CO exhaust emissions
« on: October 05, 2013, 08:49:20 AM »
Passed my second 2 year state emission test today.
All ok, except one thing which also showed up in the emission test 2 yrs ago.

CO exhaust emissions are above normal. No cel, no problem. Anyone knows what can be causing this and how to fix it?

Define: "above normal"

Iirc our cars have like 218 g/km of CO2, which is huge in Europe, is something like class E (range from A to G).

Why would you care about this????

From my point of view, this thing with emissions is just another euro BS used just to get more taxes from the citizen's pocket.

The only reason i care about it is if it is related to any possible issue with the car. Most likely is that i have a tune with rich a/f mixture. Or my cat has gone south... Just looking for opinions.
Sorry, i cant define above normal, cause i cant recall the number. Maybe i should say, above accepted for the emission test...

The taxes are based on CO2 iirc, not CO

What I typed above is referring to CO2, and not to CO as a I stated, I have updated.

Now I saw you are referring to CO. My bad

Get a scanner and read your AFR if you care being too rich, if your cat went south you will get a CEL for cat efficiency.

You worry too much imho :D

If the MIL is off the control system is within factory tolerances.  Also, dirty engine oil does not help.  Clear Skies!
