No Front Blinkers
« on: May 07, 2014, 11:41:16 AM »
Upon pulling the car out of hibernation and driving around for a bit, I discovered that neither of the front turn signals work. The rear turn signals are fine, although of course they blink faster. However, the bulbs seems fine; they light up when I turn the parking lights on. I am going to assume it is a relay/fuse/breaker and most likely in the panel above the battery.

I am hoping someone has some insight to share that might save me a decent amount of troubleshooting. Thanks!

Do you have the side markers tied into the front turn lights mod?  Do you have LEDs in them?

Out of town, so don't have access to schematics, but IIRC the front and rear are on the same circuit (hence the rears blinking faster).

The turn signal filament is separate from the running light filaments though - so could be just a coincidence and both bulbs actually have their turn filaments blown.

Bulbs are cheap and easy to change. I would start first by changing both bulbs to eliminate that as a possibility.

If both bulbs blew at the same time, it would be a first time for me.

I can't see them going out at the same time but maybe it wasn't noticed until the second bulb went out.

Sure it is rare that both go at the same time, but, the bulbs were probably made at the same time so it could happen. :2c:

And if you don't check the bulbs first you could spend hours troubleshooting for nothing. Alternatively you could use a meter to check for voltage at the socket. If there is not voltage then work back from there.

lol, I had plenty of other things going on that kept me from fussing with the toy...including my wife's first mother's day. You are all too funny! It turned out to be a loose connection, I just needed to take the few minutes to poke around and see it. Thanks all!
