Pretty interesting, so if you painted black, just make sure the sun does not shine on to it and you have a wining combination.
Although for a street car it does not matter.

Interesting,

So if I understand correctly if you are stopped idle you get cooler airflow and while driving there isn't really a benefit? Would that help DD's cooling temps since there are more idle stops? Would it really keep the engine cooler at idle?

I think a better paint job will work better. Spraying like they did will close up some of the airflow. If the inter cooler is made black from the design phase, i think the benefits would be even better.

The solution is black anodizing the aluminum.

Yeah that sounds like a good idea since anodizing is actually a layer of corrosion that will make the surface non conductive.

What the paint is doing is adding surface area because of the matte texture. so anodizing will do zero. Aerospace tested this years ago and while there is a benefit it is minimal.

After watching the Mighty Car Mods video you need to watch this one to come to the correct conclusion.

08 Carbon Flash Redline 5 Speed
