Honestly, I don't see anything wrong with plasti-dip or lambo doors. I've seen both done tastefully on our cars.

Headlights, window frame, front grill, tulip panel, all Saturn and Sky badges, and center console all Plasti-Dipped...









Looks good, easily changeable if I want, and most people think it's factory.  I don't get what's the big deal with Plasti-dip either. I think, like anything else, it can be good or bad depending on how it is used.
