Exhaust manifold studs to turbo exhaust flange?
« on: January 11, 2015, 07:32:56 PM »
Does Anyone know if the two top studs on the exhaust manifold that bolts to the exhaust in-let flange on the turbo are the same size.  Looking at the turbo flange it looks like they are different diameters but if you do a parts look up it lists the bolts as the same as the ones used from the turbo exhaust outlet to the cat and I dont think that all four bolts are the same size though.
Thanks

Wierd then my holes in the the flange on the turbo are different diameters.
The top two one is a round hole about 8mm the other a oval hole about 8mm. The bottom two holes are round and about 9.5mm in diameter.
Do they use a different size stud than the ones that go from the turbo to the cat?
Anyone have the correct part number for the studs im looking for?
11609870 is the PN # for the studs for the turbo to cat and the exploded parts view give the same part number and thst the problem im having.  I also need the correct PN# for the nuts.

Joe do you still have the PN# for those studs and nuts.
Thanks
Think I was able to find the correct PN# for the studs and nuts that go from the Exhaust manifold to the turbo exhaust inlet flange.
11609953 stud
11516077 nut

When the dealer attempted to properly change my water pump several years ago, they snapped a turbo to exhaust stud, removed and loosened several exhaust studs and then sent me on my way.  NICE!.  It took me a while to figure out what the noise was when I went WOT.  Eventually the turbo gasket failed and I figured it what the noise was.  In performing the repair, I discovered the broken stud.  Bought the kit at Advanced and ended up using 5 of them.  I replaced all the turbo studs and the one missing on the engine for the exhaust manifold.
