I used Ferrea valves and spring. I suggest Bates  sleeves for our engines and Bates spring for the chain tensioner. He also can make race blocks that can handle up to 1200hp. Bates also makes a billet oil pump

A dual spring upgrade would have prevented Kelu's exploding engine issue.

That is nice info, but sounds pricey, not sure if a 500hp target would worth all those mentioned cookies, to be safe anything which is very quality worth but if you dump 10-20k on a mildly used engine :/

A dual spring upgrade would have prevented Kelu's exploding engine issue.
I wonder why you don't post that in the adequate topic  :slap:

Can you please go back to the pic of your yellow car. Is that a picture of your engine cover with a ghost of The Stig over the center?

Don't get a turbo and you won't need a stinking clutch.  Think of the money you will save.  The donkey can pull you.

I have a Solstice GXP 07. If you don't mind, what is the ballpark figure to put that many ponies under the hood? And do you need a beefier drive train?

You don't have to go to the extreme I'm going to but I will prob have around 10k plus. I'm up to 6500 and I still have to buy the turbo and a clutch so that will put me at the 10k number. Then the motor has to be put together and installed.

Just curious, but what kind of HP would you have gotten (or could you reasonably get) with just a rod/piston/valve spring replacement?  With the new items you have, do you think you can get to 490HP?

That depends on the turbo.  Air plus Fuel = HP
A lot of these other things are to make sure that the amount of torque will not break the stock parts.

...A lot of these other things are to make sure that the amount of torque will not break the stock parts.

I guess I should have clarified.  That last sentence is what I was looking for.  Given he can install any turbo he wants, what HP range is possible with the internals he is doing compared to just going new conrods/pistons/valve springs.  Can he get to 500 with what he is doing?

Yes you can get 500hp.
How that power is delivered on a 2.0 Liter engine is the issue.  A lot of the higher HP builds on smaller engines have a dyno graph that looks like an upside down V.
It's great for bragging rights but isn't a car I personally would want to drive.  400hp in a 3000lb car is a lot of HP and you can still have the power come on at lower RPMS so have a vehicle that works well on the street vs being just a Drag Strip queen.
