DDMWorks Puddle Lights

DDMWorks Puddle Lights for the Solstice and Sky.

If you are looking for a nice little winter project, here it is!

This was a fun little project that we came up with to add a little style and functionality to the Solstice/Sky. These are specifically designed puddle lights to mount in the bottom of your door and use the Solstice and Sky silhouette's. After installation our puddle lights automatically project a 16" diameter Solstice or Sky silhouette at your feet everytime you open the door. The projected silhouette creates a nice light to help you see at night, while also giving a little bit of eye catching style. The kit is only $55 and can be ordered on our site now -

Installation does take a couple hours to complete, but is pretty straightforward and does not require any specialized tools. Our kit comes complete with everything needed to do the installation including the lights, instructions for install and even the drill bit needed to install the lights in the doors. When installed you can not see the lights themselves, just the projected image on the ground. Of course if you have any questions before, during or after the install you can reach us on our tech support line - 864-907-6004.

If you have an idea for a Custom logo, just let us know, we can do it!

No credit to Critterman, the originator of the under door lighting  in the solstice.
Wow. I really thought Ivy liked Critter. But, as with most women, she can't stand him.

Sorry to break your heart Critterman.

Dave can we get a set of these lights that project recessed grills on the front of the car?

GJ I think we would have to install these on the front of Critter's doors to get them to work right.

PS Critter, sorry to hear about you and Ivy.

I am not sure actually, I don't remember what size hole we had to drill for those. If you can take a look at the bottom of your door, the hole size for these lights is just about 15/16".

Has anyone installed the puddle lights so that they work with the VDI hinges? (Doors up?)

No reason why they shouldn't work with VDI door hinges. Only difference, light will be shining on someones forehead instead of the ground.... :)

Install the light fixture in a gyro mount and it will always point down. The image would be huge with the doors up.

You could possibly use a piece of PVC pipe with one end cut at an angle and painted black as an adapter ring to orient the puddle light properly with the VDI equipped door up. I'm not sure how it would make the puddle light look when the door is not raised (perhaps a bit oblong?). However, the adapter ring could cause clearance issues.

You would just mount them near the front of the door where they point down when the door is up

I saw that but these guys don't know where my lights are mounted so they have no reference.

How far out will the image project ? Just wondering if one could be mounted to shine on hood blanket and still retain a good image with the hood up.
