LSJ throttle body swap
« on: July 31, 2014, 10:30:35 AM »
I'm looking at swapping the throttle body on my 2.4 with a Hann kit  with an LSJ unit more airflow and a couple of extra horses or so they claim . An outfit ZZPerformance makes an adapter plate and sells the throttle body just wondering if anyone has done this and were you satisfied with the results any tuning issues? I will be emailing Hann but sometimes it takes awhile  before they respond so I'm trying to cover my bases before I order it

What power level are you at on the HAHN kit?

At that power level the stock throttle body on the 2.4L is more than adequate, switching to the LS4 throttle body is not going to increase your power. The 2.0L cars have a much smaller throttle body and switching to the 2.4L throttle body doesn't make a difference with those until you start getting up above 400hp at the wheels.

If you do plan on switching to the LS4 throttle body, the wiring for it is completely different than the stock 2.4L throttle body, so be aware of that before you go to start the car with it on, otherwise it will go full throttle on you.

Hope that helps,
Dave

Dave it's an LSJ according to their information is this one and the same because their claim is that there is a 10% increase in flow 64.6 mm stock vs 67.4 for the LSJ : Update : Talked to ZZPerformance and they were right on with Dave's assessment that I would not see any real world gains with any motor not making at least 400 horsepower and even with a Hann stage 111 kit  I will not be in the ballpark .Thanks for your input Dave!
