FS: 2007 Sky Redline, Chili Pepper Red, 5 Speed, 27k miles
« on: March 09, 2015, 10:49:20 PM »
Hi All,

I believe the time has come for me to sell my 2007 Saturn Sky Redline, 5 Speed Manual, Black top and seats, 27k miles.  The car is in excellent shape.  I have recently added the GMPP Turbo upgrade (290 HP), Magnaflow 3" catback exhaust (4 tips), DDM Works Venom brace, DDM Works Pro Beam, Aluminum tunnel brace, 4 new tires (2k mile ago), DDM Works A frame gauge pod with Boost and Volt meter.  Stock Chrome wheels with no rash.  The only reason I am seller her is I have only put on 2k miles in the last 1.5 years, she just sits in the garage.  I will let her go for $16,500.  This is a great price for a low mileage car.  The car is located in Mobile, AL.

Nice Price.

Pictures would definitely help and this is a good place to sell it.

I know!  The Dr recommended an 08 though.  I'll email him again and pick his brain as to why the 08 or 09 vs the 07.

Different ECM?

Yup that and it seems like he told me there were some other small changes on the newer kappas that made them better and easier to work on than the 2007's.  It's been a few years since we had that discussion.  I remember him saying get an 08 or 09 rather than a 07.

That being said...there isn't a thing wrong with this car!  It has the mods I want and the mileage is great.  I'd rather not have another red car, since I already have 2 and the Slostice is red.  It's a little more than I want to spend, but I think a fair deal for the mileage.

I'll keep my eye on it and if it sticks around and I don't see what I want, I'll probably reconsider.  I am getting car itchy again and the Autoshow this week will probably push me over the edge to buy something!  Ha ha!

There is nothing wrong with a red car, I have three.  The black car is the one I wish was a different color ten minutes after I wash it.

Funny, just saw the recent Consumer Retorts Car Issue. In the "what NOT to buy used" section, it specifically lists the 2007 Solstice.  No other years.  Go figger.

I am SO with you there, SA.  (After owning 3 black cars and swearing "never again" after each one.)

Never said there was.  I've always owned at least one red car and red is my favorite color!  I just don't want another red Kappa.  Can't explain why, I just don't.  Maybe because I already have 2 red cars?  No idea.
Don't want Black Onyx either.  Had 1 black car and thought the same thing.  Every swirl mark drove me nuts!  Carbon Black Flash I can deal with because the metallic flake always seems to hide crap.

Mine is carbon black, you still can't keep it clean.

Buy this car and get a vinyl wrap.

Ihawk has to buy Johny's car or else we have really hijacked this thread.

Don't get me wrong Ihawk the car looks nice in black but it's impossible to keep it clean.  No kidding 10 min after I wash it you can see dust and dirt settling on it.

PS it's also a GXP

I thought you had the GTP?!?  My bad.  Wait...do you have the G5 or 6?
I think the only 2 colors I've had that didn't do that were the White Tri-Coat G6 and my Greystone Metallic Grand Prix.  Even red does that.  I blew through a CA duster when I used to show the car, but part of that was Central Hellinois wind helping it to dust from the fields!  That's why I didn't like to drive it to work!  Now it's so rock chipped, road rashed, and scratched, I don't care so much.  Someday...I will re-paint it and then I'll care again!

Hey, Johnny sent me a PM.  I offered to help sell it at least!

G6 GXP coupe, the black is like instantly showing dust and dirt.  The red doesn't seem to show the dust that quick which is why you should get this car. :poke:

Thank you Sol Asylum!!!!  You have been my car's best cheerleader.  Nobody seems to want to pay a fair price for our Sky's.  The dealership I was looking to trade with would only pay the NADA trade in price, 9k.  I laughed at the ridiculous offer.  I think I will keep my Sky since it is superior to many 20k cars.  It is an extremely fun car to drive and very quick for a 4 cylinder.  I went out and gave her a big hug and told her I was sorry that I wanted to trade her in. :sorry:
