wider rear fenders coming
« on: April 21, 2015, 08:14:19 PM »
I have some requests for a set of rear fenders that can be added on. These are 1" wider could be made even wider with some modification that would be easier as now there is a base to work from. Whats nice about these is that it does not damage the stock sheetmetal, the bumper fits up to it without having to cut and pie the stock 1/4. Thanks Norm

Hello, great to hear from you again. Not sure what the customer has for wheels when the car came here the tires stuck out 1" hes using 275/35ZRx19 tire what offset I couldnt tell you. When its all painted I will put up pictures of the wheels and rear outside. Its actually snowing here today, brrr.

What I wanted to do was make it look somewhat stock, rather than some duckbill added on to it. A little more musclular.

Did you have to redo the fuel door?  How do you blend the bumper cover into the new flare or do you just unbolt the edge of the cover and then reattach to the flare?

Hello, the fuel door is left alone blend around the base of it. Thats the beauty of this part it allows you to use your bumper flare without having to cut the sheetmetal up to it. Rather than stretch the metal, to meet the part this is now built into it.
For example, this is what I had to do before to meet up to the bumper as you cant make the bumper longer, since it has to go out to make wider then there is a gap that needs to be taken up. With the new fender add on now, this is not needed to do. Thanks Norm

Nice!

BTW, still loving your body panels on the car.

At some point we might be interested in a single piece front clip (just hood and bumper), maybe in the style on silver car in your signature.

Hello, Done with a 1" wider fender overlay. Using the stock inner wheel well fastener locations. Overall looks stock with a some muscle, if you didn't know you wouldn't know. Thanks Norm

That looks awesome though you've got to start leaving some orange peel in the paint to match the factory finish. Just kidding of course - your paint on the diffuser I got from you last year had a much better finish than the factory job. I ended up wetsanding, buffing and polishing the rest of the car to make it look as good as your paint.

The road to success is always under construction.

That's too funny, I wrestle with that too. Thanks again Norm

Can you give me an estimate on doing this to a sky? I want exactly what you did, as though it came from the factory. I just got a new job and expect to have a little extra money to make the Sky what I always wanted.

Already commented on the BB, but this is way cool , however I'm wondering how two inches would look, and would it still look OEM.  Though I'd really like to see the car in person to get a better idea of how it looks.

What would guesses be for wheel and tire widths?  10 inch wide wheels and 315s?

Hello and thankyou, few people can do this on their own as it will require bonding its not a bolt on. Plus the Sky is differant, love to do it but will have do it here in Mishawaka In 46545. Give me a cll when you're ready thanks again Norm www.normsfiberglass.com

That's sick and subtle. If someone was looking at it, they wouldn't know the car didn't come like that stock. Your work is awesome as always.

WOW!

The much-needed extra space under the quarter, the bonus of better looks, and a good job on paint and craftmanship. The whole thing is nothing short of excellence.

Quite possibly. I happen to have a pair of 20 x 10 stock offset wheels just looking for a 1" wider fender to fit under.
