Do NOT let DDMWorks Tune Your Car
« on: May 01, 2015, 01:32:36 PM »
I made the mistake of letting DDM Dave tune my car while at NASSM 2014.

BIG, BIG, BIG Mistake!

I haven't driven my car since October and now she feels like a tiny rocket!  :tool: :drive:

No there is a certain mechanically challenged GJ living on the West Coast. Although sometimes he stops by the East Coast and fails to visit friends.

My car is happy and so am I. I should have started saving up for tickets though!

What about brakes? Why do you think she thinks is a small rocket, like any other rocket you just launch it and you can't stop it until runs out of fuel.

Scanner-

I disagree with the two previous posts.

DDM can tune both the ECM and TCM (if equipped) on a 2.4 for a reasonable difference in power under the curve. It isn't as dramatic as the 2.0t, but it's there. That's about as much as you'll get without changing hardware, but some small changes to the 2.4 can make small improvements. Better flowing cats or elimination of them (if allowed by law in your state) makes some room for more breathing as well.
Chat with them. They have a few 2.4s under their belts.

I 2nd what GJ said.  I'm one of their 2.4's without a turbo charger or hardware.  I did have an exhaust when I was tuned, then added the high flow cat last year.  You won't gain power with the tune and no cat (maybe 2 hp...maybe maybe another 1 or 2 if you tune for 93 octane...per Dave).  However, it does remove acceleration lag which you will notice, (you will give it gas and the car will comply immediately) and as GJ mentioned, there is a difference in power under the curve, which you will notice when accelerating.  The cat adds some HP...10-15, i've heard up to 18.  No idea, but it does add a little and it is noticeable.  I can wait longer to shift than I did before when accelerating.

It almost seems like a regular occurrence these days that someone acknowledges that GJ IS RIGHT.

THE WORLD WILL SOON BE MINE!!!!!!

I don't really want it, so I'm happy to share with a select few. And, yes, I've already selected the few.

I haven't been in here in some time but periodically check the front page to see whats new and when I saw the topic in the list. I thought to myself "Who's this clown now that needs a beat down?" Then saw it was just poking fun when I actually read through. lol
