Sky tail lights programming BCM?
« on: July 10, 2015, 03:55:59 PM »
Finally tried to install my Saturn Sky tail lights.

Removed the wires from the plug and placed them in the right position, but the stop light isn't working.

There is no stop signal on the turning light wire (U.S. cars have the turning and stop signal on one wire).

Checked the wiring  and it's exactly the same like the Saturn Sky one.

Opel just added a wire for the stop lights which is connected to the center high mounted stop lamp wire.

My GM dealer tried to program the BCM, but he failed.

Is there a different software for Europe which can't be changed or does it depend on the Vin?

So light is working (whole tail light is lighted) and the turning light is working perfectly (whole tail light is flashing).

There is no way to reprogram the BCM.

Cut the green wire of the outer chamber at the  "junction"(yellow). Put a new pin on the wire. (Bosch service sells them). Place the pin in the connector of the light. (so the now 4 pins form a square in the connector)

That's it.

The outer chamber will work as a turn signal, the inner chamber will work as a stop light. There is no way to use both chambers as turn signal and stop light in the GT as far as I know.

And a little personal "hint":
Mount some red reflectors at the rear (mine are on the fascia directly arop the exgaust), no policeman will stop you for the illegal lights, but they will stop you for missing reflectors! (trust me... I know it... )
