WTB Solstice 10 spoke wheels
« on: September 13, 2015, 01:17:13 AM »
I'm looking for a set of Solstice Q9Y 10 spoke wheels for my GXP. I have only been able to find one wheel online. I'll buy a single wheel or a whole set, I need at least 3 more. Here is a picture for clarification

I'm also interested in a set like these if no one has the others. http://www.hubcaphaven.com/mm5/graphics/00000001/aly6634_lg.jpg

Thanks,
Charles

Good luck with your search, those are both probably the rarest Solstice wheels in existence.

Thanks! I will try that site, I've tried 2 others who claimed to have it in stock, but they were backordered.

Several of us bought complete sets of Q9Y wheels when a vendor was offering them on Ebay several years ago for a decent price.  But lately, I only see them being offered separately.  You may want to post you're looking on the Solsticeforum too.  I also stalk Craigslist for Solstice parts, and did find a set on 5/7/15 for $750, but that was the one and only time.

Have these on my 2009 Sky. Another gentleman at 2014 NASSM had them on his Solstice coupe. When he saw mine he noted that they were the only other ones he'd ever seen.
Gawd, I LOVE this car!

Wow, that is a bit much for a set of wheels.

I got an email from a company that I tried to purchase from a few months ago saying they received a set, so hopefully they will be shipping them to me this week.

There is the possibility that a seller may sell the wheels separately, but chances are they would charge a premium.  The worst thing that could happen is the seller says no.  But if it's getting this hard to find the OEM custom wheels now, imagine what's it going to be like in five to ten years.

I do believe Craigslist allows WTB postings, so I'd post an ad and keep reposting until I found something.  Though I'm thinking ads like that may be an invitation to be taken of price wise, but if you set a budget of 5-8 hundred bucks that should help weed out any price gougers.  But I'd also post wanted ads on all the Kappa forums and keep bumping them up because I think we're the best resource for finding and helping each other find Kappa parts.
