I bought this to use on the grill, I do long slow smokes of pork sholders and briskets 10-12 hours, this really helps. I have also found it works great in the oven inside. I use it when I bake whole chicken breasts and they come out perfect. I have used it to do roasts as well. I just sit downstairs and watch TV or work in the garage. It is not just for the grill.

Oven/barbeque wireless thermometer with digital LCD screen for perfectly cooked meat
Stainless-steel 6-inch detachable probe; temperature display from 32 to 572 degrees F
8 entree programs; 4 doneness selections; 2 verbal and 3 audio alert options
Transmission range up to 330 feet away; low-battery indicator; batteries included
Main unit measures 5-3/5 by 2-3/4 by 1-1/2 inches; remote unit measures 3-2/5 by 3-2/5 by 1-1/5 inches

It's about $45 from Amazon

Pro's  It is acurate and works exactly like advertised, I can put it in my pocket or set it near me anywhere in my house and it will warn me 5 degrees before things get done, a nice lady says "it's almost done" can be set for any temp, or use the presets for different types of meat. I love it mine was a gift , many thanks to my son.

Con's I can't think of any.

My wife got me a similar item for Christmas.  Mine is the Grill Alert from Brookstone.  I've used it twice and it's a neat gadget.  I'm sure when the weather warms up I will be using it all the time.

Wireless even?  That's amazing!  I'm going to have to get me one.  I could slow roast my steaks without having to worry about checking them too often or not enough!  Thanks!!

Why would you slow roast a steak? I cook mine a 800 degree's for 90 seconds each side, then rest the steak for about 20 minutes while the grill temp drops to 450, finish the steaks and rest another 5 minutes and serve. It really is a great device I have always had a problem getting chicken right, I did two breasts the other day in the convection oven they were awesome, and they cooked while I was watching cars go fast and turn left.

You can also check out the Maverick ET-73 remote smoker thermometer.  It has similar features as the above model, but offers 2 different probes (one for the smoker and one for the pork shoulder).  It has high and low alarms for both probes as well as a timer.  Wireless remote monitoring as well.  There have been some complaints about range, but mine works fine.  Smoker on the deck, thermometer in my living room.  Makes using my new Weber Smokey Mountain Cooker much easier.

I had one of those, worked great until I was cooking in the rain, killed it, It had it for a couple of years and it worked fine.
