Horrible jerking when at speed
« on: January 18, 2016, 07:06:56 AM »
Hey all.  So the other day I was doing some "spirited driving" when I hit a nasty part of the road. It wasn't a huge pothole or anything, just about a one or two inch deep one. My Solar lurched hard left and right back and forth to the point I thought I was going to lose control. Luckily I slowed down enough to stop the lurching and promptly changed my underpants. I've noticed it does this hard lurching whenever I'm going above 55ish mph. It think it was just exacerbated by the speed I was going when I found out for the first time that it did this. It's only got 22k miles on it, so i can't imagine any parts are worn out already. It does have Kappa sphere M1s on it currently and I'm not sure of the rubber but I can look at it when I get home. I'm thinking alignment problem but was wondering if there was anything specific I might be missing. Thanks!

Have a look at this thread before you go too far as bolts coming loose has happened on a few cars.

I agree with Bob, check both front and rear hub bolts.

Check your nuts and the jerking may stop.

Jerking at speed can be downright dangerous.  And you could go blind

I think he hired someone to do the jerking for him while at speed.
