Topic: WTB - Solstice/Sky Left Top Latch cover #21999545‏

Looking for part number 21999545, left top latch cover for Solstice/Sky. I will also need the little metal clip and purple plastic retainer on the left hand side (Photo attached is actually the right side, but shows the clip and retainer well).

Mine has a chunk out of the corner about 1" long. I "might" be able to repair (it's fiberglass) but not sure how it would turn out, and I still need the little metal clip & retainer to re-attache the cable that flips them up when the top is up.

Any help is appreciated. If all else fails, maybe I could make the metal clip if I can't come up with one?? And I wonder if the purple clip is the same as the ones used inside the doors for the locking rods (it looks familiar)?

You can get a "Help!" packet of those plastic rod clips - pretty sure one of them would work.  Otherwise, they are available from the dealer.

Not sure what metal clip you mean... if it's the L-shaped rod, that's molded on to the cable and you'd need the whole cable assembly.

As for the doors, I don't think you'll be able to get those separately - certainly any more.  You only/best bet might be an auto-recycler (AKA scrap yard)

The L-Rod actually connects to a metal clip (not the cover itself). You can see it in the pic, it's black, and it clips to the cover (and the also the mounting post area, and I think it's a retainer for the post as well...). Mine is missing, so even if I try to repair the cover, I'll still need the metal clip to re-attached the L-Rod.

Here is almost all of the info you will need, from one of the GM parts outfits, don't die when you see the price of the little door. I'd try a salvage yard first.

Dave, thank you very much for the help. I had a friend who works for GM looking and he couldn't find it, lol. Yeah, the price they want is crazy! The little tiny metal clip I need is listed at $23... that's nuts! I'll be digging into this deeper. Thanks again for your help!
