FS: 2006 Pontiac Solstice V8 Conversion
« on: August 05, 2016, 07:35:39 PM »
Well, the time has come to put my Solstice for sale.  There are other projects I want to do.  This car was built by myself and a shop in S. Florida called German Performance.  They specialize in putting LS's in Porsche 944's.

I bought most of my kit from Dave at PAW.  I bought all NEW items, no used stuff from a junk yard here.  The front of the motor is set up like a Camaro.  All those brackets hangers, wiring etc were all NEW items from Chevrolet, new crate motor, new T56 transmission, new rear diff etc.  I ordered the complete ZOK kit from Pontiac, rear cross member, roll bars, Energy suspension bushings etc.  The complete Energy kit was installed, plus K and W suspension.  Once the car was 98% complete, I took it to Dr Dave and he did all the fine tuning.  He flashed the ignition, set up the suspension, corner weighted it etc.  This car is done head to toe and there are tons of things I'm forgetting.

The car has a full red leather interior and stereo system from Joe at JPM.  See pictures.

My car started out as a 2.4 with a turbo.  I then changed it to an LS2 V8.  If you search me on this forum and the other, you will see much of the project.

The car had 20700 miles on it before the conversion and about 12000 after the conversion.  So it has about 32700 miles on it.  I can verify the pre conversion miles as that is on my FL title.  The after conversion miles are on the gauges now.

One important note, I never hooked up the heater in the car.  I live in FL and it was never needed.  The car does have working AC, I did hook that up as it is mandatory in FL...LOL.

Please Please Please, do not come on the thread and tell me my car is not worth what I'm asking because a Mallet just sold for $......  My car is way more than what a standard Mallet was.   I added many more things than what most Mallet's have.  As mentioned, full ZOK suspension, Energy bushings, K&W suspension, full JPM Leather interior, 360 Forged Wheels etc etc etc.  Please e-mail me for the full write up.  You will be amazed.

Latin Venom on this forum has seen the car many times and can attest to what is done to it.  See attachment below for full list of modifications.

Asking $32000.

To the right buyer, it likely is worth nearly your asking.  Problem is, most folks on this forum have a Kappa already.  Those of us crazy enough to want a V8 conversion anymore are the same ones crazy enough to think we'll enjoy giving the DIY route a crack.

Have you tried listing it on ebay with a reserve yet?

I've always been envious of your car (as I'm sure many others here have), but I (and others here) see it as more of a project to emulate as opposed to something I'd like to purchase as a finished product.

If you haven't already, cast a wider net.  Your buyer will come along.
