This 2007 Saturn Sky is number 6 of 100 limited edition Mallett Cars Ltd. conversions that features an LS2 V8 paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. The conversion includes additional drivetrain, suspension, and brake upgrades to account for the increase in horsepower and torque, along with Mallett badging and serial number plaque. The car is being sold by the original owner, who has added just under 20k miles to the car over nine years of ownership in the Tuscon, Arizona area. The roadster has been well-maintained by Corvette specialists, and was dynoed in June of 2016 by ES Tuned with results showing 404 peak horsepower. The Mallett invoice for the build is included, and the car is being sold with a clean Arizona title in the seller’s name.

The Silver Graphite paint is original and in good shape thanks to being garaged since new. The finish looks glossy and is said to have no major flaws aside from some road rash on the bottom of the front chin apron and a small mark below the passenger door. The suspension had been upgraded by Mallett with custom lowered shocks, performance springs, polyurethane rear control arm bushings, and polyurethane differential mount bushings.

The conversion also included larger disc brakes and custom Mallett branded powder coated calipers. The grey 19″ custom iForge alloys are in good condition with no curbing present, and wear a new set of Hankook Ventus V12 tires with substantial tread left.

A custom Mallett wind restrictor with frosted logo has been added and is said to have a few small cracks. The factory black soft top works as it should, though some wrinkles can be seen on the rear sides of the canvas.

Inside, the red and black interior looks clean with glossy black and matte aluminum trim. The dash is smooth with no cracks or fading from UV exposure, and plastics look well preserved.

The leather seats are in nice condition with some wear showing on the driver-side red insert. Mallett V8 stitching on the headrest carries the badging theme found throughout the car.

The owner added an A-pillar mounted PLX Devices organic LCD gauge set with customizable OBDII monitors and wide band AFR, though the AFR gauge is currently not connected to the wide-band sensor due to a possible faulty module. All of the other gauges, lights, power accessories, A/C, and stereo functions are operating properly per the owner. Some wear is visible on the red portions of the leather-wrapped steering wheel.

The LS2 6.0L V8 crate engine was modified by Mallett with red carbon fiber coil covers. The engine distributes power through a 5-speed Chevy Colorado manual gearbox that is said to shift smoothly. Other components from the Mallett conversion include a LuK Pro Gold clutch assembly, custom drive shaft, and LSD from a Cadillac CTS-V. The owner has added a mild racing cam and had the head ported by a local Corvette performance shop in Tuscon.

A custom 2-core aluminum radiator and stainless braided hoses were installed. A Corsa dual-exhaust system with stainless mufflers and tips was also added. The owner reports the motor pulls strong and makes great sounds through all gears.

The owner has recently had the car tuned by his local mechanic, and a dynamometer test from ES Tuned in June shows the engine producing 404 horsepower and 391 lb.ft of torque at max output.

The Mallett Cars Ltd. data plate pictured above shows the chassis number as skyv8-006 and the build date as 8/06. The seller reports that all maintenance has been carried out by two local Corvette mechanics and can provide contact info for interested parties. The original Mallett invoice is included in the sale, and Mallett Cars Ltd. in North Carolina has all of the paperwork on file.

Tick-tock, ends at 4PM today, bids up to $20,500, though I can't see anything below $23,000 buying it.

A lot of bid action there at the end, ended up at $26,775 with the 5% buyers premium added on.

It was a good buy for the winner.

Wait, is this right, he buys it for $25.5K and sells it for $19.7K and it's up for auction again?

Auctioned for $25.5K: http://bringatrailer.com/listing/2007-saturn-mallett-v8-sky/
Auctioned for $19.7K: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2007-Saturn-Sky-Mallett-LS2-/201730412193?
At Auction for $23K: http://www.ebay.com/itm/2007-Saturn-Sky-Mallett-LS2-/201746188213

If he's successful, he'll only lose $2,500 on the deal..

Yes, he paid $25.5k,plus buyer's premium, plus shipping from Arizona to Alabama.
The first eBay auction at $19.7k did not meet his reserve, no sale.
The next attempt was eBay at $24k "Buy it now".
The current eBay listing is $23k "Buy it now".

Read the rest of the thread on Skyroadster forum to understand why he is trying to sell it.

Here's his explanation for selling.

The car is in exactly the same shape as it arrived to me and runs perfectly. And no the car didn't "skeer" me. My last Factory Five Cobra had a supercharged 4.6 DOHC with twin turbos feeding the SC making 705 RWHP in a 2421 lb car. It would blow the 315 NT05R drag radial off at 90 mph. My Mk 3.5 Rebuild-The X-Terminator Dyno sheet pg 3 - FFCars.com : Factory Five Racing Discussion Forum

I just got home about 30 min ago from Atlanta airport after flying up to RHode Island to wire a FFR 818 with a side trip to FFR in Mass to finalize the order for the new Coupe. I bought the Sky for a fun 3 season car with an LS for power, only problem was 2 weeks later I was at SEMA working in the Factory Five booth for the release of the Gen 3 Daytona Coupe. I was offered one to build with Grassroots Motorsports magazine like I did with the first 818. Here is a link to a PDF of the first of 10 installments (https://www.factoryfive.com/wp-conte...ect818_rd1.pdf) There are also about 35 videos on their YouTube channel. I have too many play cars right now including the above car pic (Just finished a Gen 2 Daytona, my 818 with a turbo 6 cylinder EZ30 that was in the Toyo booth at SEMA 2013 and the Sky) along with 4 other project cars. Building cars with magazines is very time intensive and time sensitive so I need to clear some room and free up some capitol to build the Gen 3 Coupe. I am finishing a 66 fastback and a FFR 33 Hot Rod that need to be done by Jan1.
Bottom line is both the Sky and the GEN 2 Daytona are on Ebay.

My magic 8 ball says "yes," I however don't have a location for such a file.

Appreciate it, but I still can't read the numbers.

I did see the HP in the other thread.  Kind of low for a V8.

I did see the HP in the other thread.  Kind of low for a V8.

In post #1, it says 404 hp peak. That's actually quite a bit above normal for a stock LS2 with only a tune. Probably able to achieve that due to the lighter 5-speed transmission versus the more usual t-56. In what world is that low for a (mechanically) stock LS2?

From the factory, C6 Corvettes with the LS2 put down around 340 to the rear wheels, and LS3s about 380.
