its a bit tricky honestly but not impossible. I had 2 other people helping me. Its pretty much a chore to get the axles out. But once you get those out everything it basically just follow the instructions

Hi from newby Gil
Does anyone know if I can put 1.42 gears from a  CTS in my 07 Sol? It's a NA 2.4 with LS Dif. I would love to drop my cruising RPM from 2100 with the 1.9 gear ratio down to 1600 rpm at 60 mph.

Thanks

Hmmm. Not sure.
Wouldn't you be way low on power if you did that?
Make the right choices now

That's what I was thinking.  It would probably take longer to get to 60 and use more gas to maintain that speed.

For a manual transmission, the only real negative change is to acceleration from a standing start. Once you are moving you will be in a different gear than you are used to, but performance won't really be any different. Doing this with an auto could cause shifting issues, but then again it may not.
