Coilovers
« on: October 18, 2016, 02:21:53 PM »
What coilovers did any V8 swappers go with? Custom spring rates? I will most likely upgrade to BC coilovers sometime after my swap is done. I'm just trying to figure out what anyone else has done. Also, will I need anything else like sway bars or bushings?

With the extra weight of a V8, even though it's not much, I would think that would justify getting the same spring rates front and rear.
Because you can adjust the height of coilovers, I think you would be more than fine with a set of BC's with stock 7Kg Front and 7Kg rear.

So, I pulled the trigger before the sale ends on these:

I've never changed to a set of coilovers. The process seems fairly straightforward.  Will these spring compressors be sufficient?

You will not need spring compressor's to swap the entire unit.  Those are only needed if you are removing the springs from the shocks.

GJ put together a nice thread with pictures on how to do this.

Yeah he's not too bad.  You should see his post from when he is waiting at an airport for the next flight.
