Bought new drilled rotors and new pads for a screaming deal
« on: February 25, 2017, 12:36:18 PM »
Amazon up our way has a screaming deal on rotors and pads for our car. I know they aren't ECB pads or anything but I can get those later. $99 Canadian is a hell of a deal for a full set of pads and rotors.
Hope it's not a pricing error but Amazon might honor it regardless.

Wow, that was close! Yeah I got it for $99.73 with free shipping, it said that it was the last one but that more were coming. I feel like that Ikea commercial, "Start the car! Start the car!"  LOL

Got an email from Amazon that said it should be at my door Tuesday. The box would be so heavy, shipping alone would be 100 bucks...

Holy crap!  Even if you threw away the pads, that would be just $25 a rotor!

I have the PowerStop slotted rotors on the fronts and they've been fine.  Not cross-drilled though.

Yeah that really is a steal although I'm still thinking that I should be waiting for an email from Amazon cancelling the order...
Remember talking to DDM Dave a few years ago and at the time he had said he hadn't seen any issues with the cross drilled rotors and I don't track the car anyway. I don't anticipate any issues with cracking.

That was a great deal! I know I ordered an exhaust system at a very good price. I think right after I ordered it they went up nearly $200 or something close to that.

BTW Amazon now shows that brake kit at $304 and it's Prime eligible so no shipping. RockAuto has it at $308 plus shipping

I bought that same kit in 2011 for $140 shipped, it's been real good on the street, could use more aggressive pads for other then street use

Thanks cbr6 for the insight. $99 Canadian seems to be about $10 in American bucks sometimes but realistically it's about $75 USD.
Still no cancellation notice from Amazon...   :tool:

Yeah, if it works out...
Got an email Tuesday morning saying it isn't in stock now although it was in stock when I ordered it. Not cancelled but they say I won't get it before the end of March maybe later. The car isn't coming out of storage until after that anyway.

Fingers crossed...

Yeah that's what I was thinking but I don't really need brakes right now, I can wait...   :tool:
