Awesome, dont see any reason the Race mesh grilles that you have won't work. Might have to cut them down a little so they fit through the opening. That Mesh material they use is so tough to cut it's PIA, but everything we do here is a PIA, lol. Dont buy the Kidney grilles I have a set.

Hi Norm,
Are the set of grills you have black?

This could well prove to be Norm's most popular mod yet!
Norm, how do these frames fasten to the bumper?

I was wondering the same thing.  Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the grill tabs molded into the backside of the perimeter of the OEM grills? Another way of saying it is, if you cut out the honeycomb grills, aren't you also removing the tabs?

I called Norm and had a good chat with him. I asked him about returning my Coupe to stock. He said removing his grills does not damage anything and providing you have an extra set you pop them back in and you are back to stock. That sold me. Now thinking about a rear fascia while I am at Nationals????? If kept stock exhaust and replaced plastic fascia with Norm's in black..........I will let Norm answer about the tabs. Pretty sure they have to be cut off. Hence the need for a second set of OEM grills.

You're still going to have to trim back the foam bumper padding behind the existing grills in order to make room for the new grills . . .

True! though not all the foam and you really can't see it. Yes some will say it has to be there, but in all truth it basicilly just keeps the bumper ureathane in place. That little bit of foam strip not going to make any difference to you in a front collision over one mph.

Hello, yes and no. There are tabs on the back of our trim rings to hold the grille in while also at the bottom a angle bonded to the underneath of the grill goes up against the inside of the bumper. 2 screws go underneath the top of the trim ring, not into the bumper but just past it to keep the trim ring in place. The only two screws are underneath the top and cannot be seen. No glueing or mess so it can be changed back for whatever reason.

ChopTop;1970953]For anyone who'd like to pick up an additional OEM energy absorber bumper.  Also might want to check w/Hoosier GXP for one.

I cut my foam support away in 2009 to make room for the first recessed grills and have never had any ill effects. Chopping it back a bit in two spots is something I would do again without hesitation.

Bought a set of brand new GXP Grills from Crate Engine. Tall Craig could not find his to sell to me. They arrive at Norm's today. He will then make me set of recessed grills. He will also paint the frames. He will bring them to Lexington Nationals and install them.  :tool: :yay: I think this should look pretty cool on my Black Coupe. Here is a pic of the Coupe pre white OEM stripe and the roadster with Race Mesh grills.

I've had that happen to me before Gareth. On the iPhone if you took the pic with the lens on the bottom when it's posted here your pic will be upside down.

They all do that and it's only the preview that's upside down.

EDIT: I fixed it by opening it in a photo editing program and re-saving the pic as a different name before uploading it to the KP server. Should look better now Gareth.

I've checked Norms Facebook page a couple of times, and other than the original post about it haven't seen anything announced.  But if it's like the rest of his products it might be one of those built to order type situations.

Hello, knowing what I know now I should have made the GXP recessed grilles first. I cant believe how the openings are so different from the NA. The grilles are the same, not the openings with the curvature and overall shape off not by much but enough that you cant interchange. PIA got the GXP patterns almost done.

I still need to send him my grilles, or my spare set (which I haven't even had a chance to look for yet).

Hello the Recessed grilles are now done for both the NA and GXP. The GXP has a slightly different curvature but the grilles themselves are the same except for color. Pictured is a NA bumper with our lower spoiler and added splitter which is painted in Carbon Flash as are the grille and grille frames. Price for NA or GXP grille frames are $295.00 ready to paint plus shipping. You reuse your stock Hex grille in back. Thanks again Norm 574-255-7843
