Recessed grills are up on Norm's site finally and I apologize for my tardiness. Had a bit of a tough time with pics.

I didn't know you were taking pictures and putting them on his site!  Had I known, you could have taken pics of them!  Mine are different than the ones you posted.  I did the silver surround.

Yes you did and if you click through the slideshow of the recessed grills on Norm's site, you'll see them.

Why yes...yes it is!  Hahaha!  I'm sorry, I've been really out of it lately with my guy distraction. I probably watched you take the pics and didn't think a thing of it!  :(

Thanks!  I meant to paint my windshield surround black for years, but glad I never did!  I'm really pleased with the silver surround with the black grilles!  The silver gives it a little more definition which I like.  Norm did good!!!

OK, re-awakening this thread for some opinions...

The weather finally turned nice this weekend, so I've been cutting down my donor grills and fitting and painting them satin black.  So the big question is what color should I paint the norm's tunnel/frames?  I was originally going to do them the same satin black, but now I'm wavering between that and Brazen (body color).  I will leave the grill centers black in either case.

So? Whaddya think, guys and gals?

Asking? Brazen would be my choice but it's not my car. Yeah I've been there before when I painted my tunnels and have been happy to have them body colour.

If you paint them black they will blend in with the grills, if you paint them brazen they will blend in with the color of your car.  Basically it's a toss up.  If I had to choose I'd go with body color.

If Pontiac had offered them, they may have painted them body color or silver to match the windshield frame and tulip panel.  :idk:

I agree with ChopTop with the black blending in.  You won't see they are recessed.  Even my silver frame looks dark in some pics and you can't always tell they are recessed.
Brazen is your best bet to see them, even though they will blend in with the body.

I love mine!  Love, love, love em!

Oooh...TS...go to Norm's site.  The first pic looks like it's a brazen with black frame and black grilles.  They aren't matte, but you can see the frame and grille don't have good definition.

Ahh, good find and point.  Yes I agree the frames and grills should be different, for the reasons you and choptop posit.

Another thing I thought about was that if they are all black, it's unlikely I'll get the black to match the fog light surrounds/grills, which will look odd.  If the frames are body-color, any difference in the grills and fog surrounds won't be as noticeable.
