Solstice Hood Bird Decal - because Pontiac
« on: March 17, 2017, 12:30:36 PM »
I didn't find anything on google showing a Solstice with a Firebird decal on the hood.

Factory gallery here: http://www.firebirdgallery.com/Hood_Birds.htm

I guess if no one has spotted one or has a picture of one, next question is what is your opinion?  :idk: It seems justifiable being a Pontiac and I have a thing for birds of prey anyway

I think if I were going to do something like this (I'm not) I would come up with a new graphic.

You could say the same about a lambo door kit that costs over a grand.

I don't think Critter could say that about the doors.

It's not my car but if you want a Firebird sticker on your car I say go for it. Not to my liking and if you decide you don't like it you can always peel it off.
Just trying to do my part...

Mods: Lose the chicklets, VentureShield, Dual horns, AfterShock spoiler, Weathershield cover, Lil Chromies, Red calipers with black Solstice stickers, Opel GT antenna and Solo GXP-RCD exhaust with a Solo hi-flow cat!

You could say that about any mod made to the car.  To each his own.

I don't think the shape of the hood would suit this treatment.
On the Firebird, character lines and curves in the hood are pretty subdued. The Solstice has those wide, deep, scallops just inboard of the fenders with a sharp crease. The bird would be too small if it was just on the flat part of the hood, and about right if it were just a couple inches from the peak of the fenders, but the decal would be weird going across the crease. Also, there's no 'point of interest' to frame with the wings like the 2nd gen Firebird has with the shaker scoop.

Wouldn't be my choice.
Come to think of it, if I thought about doing a mod like tht, I wouldn't take a poll to see how many people agreed with it, I'd just do it.

I agree, it is for me and I try my best to think independently.  I was hoping to find someone who has done something similar and maybe this post could help bubble it up...otherwise I asked for opinions.  I think the next step is to invest in some photoshop and see if I am really serious about it, I'll drop it in this thread for giggles.
