I have my turbo cover ceramic coated. Regular powder coating burnt off.
Just trying to do my part...

Wrong kind of ceramic coating.

I am testing it out on the new car. I won’t know how good it is for 6-12 months.

Basically this is a coating that has a similar function to a clear bra, which is to prevent paint chips and staining.

Some people put the ceramic coating on top of a clear bra.

My Car is wrapped with XPEL and is holding up well, but I might consider a ceramic coating when it needs a refresh because it is significantly cheaper due to the coating requiring less labor

Hold on, am I confused or here the topic is split in:
a) ceramic coating of headers/manifolds, Critterman & Sly Bob mentioning, something like:

b) ceramic coating as paint protection of the body as GJ and elff are mentioning.

Yes Kelu!
I am testing the ceramic paint coating. But, I really won’t know if it is better than standard wax until June or somewhere close.

I'd be very surprised if it lives up to some claims that it somehow prevents rock chips.  I'm pretty skeptical about it overall.  Please let us know how it works out for you, GJ!

Not to be an armchair scientist, but I doubt some 2 micron thick layer of special sauce you put on your paint is going to stop a rock.  I herculinered my rockers because that will stop rocks, even then I still had to touchup a spot that damaged and exposed tiny spot.  You need a "mechanical" layer between the paint and the high velocity hard rock to prevent damage.

I’m not sure it says it stops rock chips. The guys doing my car actually told me it won’t (which I already assumed), but I’m doing it to make my life easier when it comes to cleaning.
Black paint sucks. I’m hoping this helps.
