If taking a stand against corporate attitude is your bag, you are going to limit your car choices and you are not going to change those manufacturers one iota.  If taking the stand makes you feel better than owning the car, I guess you win.

It is a lot more about the shitty dealers and lack of support for common repairs.
The corporate attitude comes into play when GM forces customers to pay for repairs that are either a TSB or full recall.

Other companies all have faults but IMHO handle them better.  I have no illusions that the vehicles I own will be 100% free from defects.  The difference is, I am confident that any problems will be repaired under warranty, in a reasonable amount of time, without me having to contact a lawyer or the NHTSA

The Kappa is literally the only GM car since the 1960 to very early 1970's era that has peaked my interest.
As such, I don't see myself being limited at all by eliminating them from my car choices.

The above viewpoint has not changed since I sold my Sky and has nothing to do with the current car I own.  So anyone who thinks that is the case is misinformed.   I have made similar comments over the past 8 years while I owned my Sky

I don't disagree with most of that. The only American cars that have ever moved me enough to own one were both GM - the 88 Fiero GT and the Solstice coupe.

I very rarely buy new and never take any car to the dealer except for necessary warranty work, so servicing is all after market for me.

I agree that many manufacturers suck at fair dealing with customers.  Interestingly the best I've seen so far from any manufacturer is Mazda (my wife owns one).

(sarcasm on) Come over here and I show you the awesome support of the German automakers (sarcasm off).

I had two premium cars, an Audi 80 V6 Convertible and after that an Audi A3 Hunchback 2.0 FSI S-Line.

It has been like living in hell with these two cars and the Audi support.

Most of the time the cars needed to be repaired and I had to bring them to the dealer.

- After two years the convertible started to rust (hey our cars are zinc-plated / they don't rust / it's your fault / we don't pay for it).

- The wires for the electrical top are broken, hey we pay one and get 800 bucks from you for the other.
By the way we broke your trunk lid, the paint job is worse, but hey it's your car.

- Your rear window is broken, we installed a new one for 500 bucks / they had to replace it 5 times (water had been leaking into the car).
After the last time Audi burned down the top.

There has been much more of this and I decided to sell the car and to buy a new one (the A 3).

- On the first day when I got my brand new Audi I noticed a broken airbag and a broken trunk lid panel.

- One week later the frame of the driver seat had been broken.

- One month later the called me, because they wanted to replace the rear axel.

- Half a year later in summer the car didn't start anymore, hey we can't reproduce this issue we want you to pay for it (I still had warranty).

- Two month later Audi figured out what  had been wrong with the car and these morons replaced a sensor 3 times , because they didn't talk with each other.

They damaged the car several times and guess who payed for it. :banghead:

I didn't have such problems with GM, only with the Opel mechanics (We didn't break the fenders, maybe you did it)

I've talked several times to the aftersales manager in Detroit and Opel hasn't been happy about it, because they got a kick in the a..... from GM.

(Hope my English hasn't gotten worse)

But, the way GM handles its customers, handled it's bail out and how shitty Chevy dealerships treat Kappa owners combined with how they try to bury recalls, [Ignition and passenger Airbag sensor come to mind]
I will never own another GM.

Pretty much this. I was a loyal GM owner, but now I'm voting with dollars. I too will never buy another GM vehicle. While my Sky is still undergoing an LS swap (she will be the only GM car in my stable), the recent two vehicles I've purchased are a Subaru BRZ and Toyota Tundra. Never looking back. FU GM!!!

For me there are only two possible replacements for my Sky!

Corvette C6 / C7 or  Ford Mustang (maybe if it isn't too expensive a  GT 350).

Never again a German or a Japanese car. :slap:

Thank you! :D

I've switched all of my activities to English (I don't like German it's a loveless language).

The first language I had to learn has been English (as a child we had to get up at 6.00 am and my mom told us to watch Sesame Street / U.S. version).

Agreed!

I've worked for that company and I've never seen again so much crap in my whole life. :gaah:

Don't think you are off the hook mister.  I stopped by Joe's today and he showed me the card you sent.  And yes I did see the comment you made.

PS.  Nice photo of the family.
