First Kudos where it's due - this was posted on the Solstice Forum here: http://www.solsticeforum.com/forum/f12/vcx-nano-150506/

This is a new (to me) type of TechII emulator with an OBD 'dongle' used with a laptop.  Only $109 and can in theory do anything a TechII can do.  Video here:

Amazon link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074365Q6H

Somebody PLEASE buy one!

You can get a "Tech 2" on aliexpress for about the same price and not deal with any 32/64-bit issues or other weird incompatibilities.

But I'm travelling down to central Fla this weekend, so will not be buying this anytime soon.

I havn't seen a TechII clone for less than double the price of this.

You can multi task?  Seems like this would take all of 60 seconds for you to order?  Pretty sure you could get it done while sitting on the toilet during a potty break.
Just sayin

Doh!  Of COURSE I could order it.  But I can't play with, or test, it while I'm down in Florida for a month - even if I wanted to order it.  <sigh>

What will a tech II allow us to do that my HPT doesn’t?

Hi all, been browsing and came across this. I have one of the GM versions of the VXDiags. I unfortunately don't have a GM anymore but will in the future. When I did It was a amazing product a little confusing at first but all functions worked as promised and very well. if anyone has any questions on how to set it up or use it let me know.

HPT doesn't do any BCM functions. (Think ABS, airbags, etc.)

The better question is, what can this do that HPT and a good BCM scanner can't? I've had my '05 Silverado for coming up on ten years come November, and the only things I've needed anything than a normal code reader for has been an ABS light (dead sensor) and a ABS purge cycle.

2022 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon. 3.6, manual trans.

TechII  allows you to calibrate the steering angle sensor, crank position sensor. PPS (Passenger Presence Sensor). It will also allow you to program the SDM (airbag control module) to the vehicle, set the VIN number in the stock radio.. There is a plethora of things you can do with TechII  that you cannot do with HPT.If you buy a really expensive scan tool made by one of the big tool companies you can also get those features, $3000.00 - $5000.00 vs $100.00... I'll go with the $100.00 option.
