I asked this question way back, but what is the best way to research the VIN of my '07 GXP? What I'd really like to know is where on the list did my GXP fall? Was it the (say) 997th GXP to be sent to a dealer, or what? Thanks in advance for any help.

Compnine used to be a good way to look up VIN data.  However now they want you to pay a member fee or something and I can't say they would answer your question.

as far as I know, the only thing the vin will tell you is the day your car was "born".
There is no order, rhyme , or reason for VIN assignments

very often vin '6' was 'born' before vin '5'.

We do know that coupe 1152 was the last of the coupes because many people saw it the last day the factory was running.

According to the coupe database, coupe #1 was born the day after coupe #63.    :huh:
