What are you protecting the rear plate from?

The French military use these all the time.  Their front plates never show any wear.  Just saying.

I know in the 1980's they had something like this to keep Radar from detecting your speed & with the curve shape . it was also hard to read the tag # . Most just had them on the rear tag .

It will here as well although I've never heard of anyone getting the ticket. Fine too for not having a front plate but in 10 years (touch wood) I've never had an issue.
That said, I have friends in Toronto that wouldn't even think of not having a front plate.
Just trying to do my part...

Mods: Lose the chicklets, VentureShield, Dual horns, AfterShock spoiler, Weathershield cover, Lil Chromies, Red calipers with black Solstice stickers, Opel GT antenna and Solo GXP-RCD exhaust with a Solo hi-flow cat!

Co-Worker of mine got fined this past summer. 
Where I live, you can get away with lifted vehicles, wide tires and tinted windows, but the police do not like it when they can't see your plate number and it's a sure fire way to get pulled over.
