Corvette Brembo brake upgrade

I have successfully fit 4 piston brembo brakes on my 2007 gxp. I have test driven the car and the mechanical side seems to be working properly. I need help with the electrical side. The corvette hub has a different connector than the factory solstice hub. I believe I have all the parts to fashion an adapter pig tail, but I am not sure how to wire them. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have tons of pictures, but how the heck do you post them on here?

-Machined stock spindles to fit corvette hubs
-Machined bracket to hold calipers
-Extended factory brake hard lines to reach new caliper location
-Temporarily using wheel spacers until wheels are chosen

The crucial detail here is that both hubs are using the same amount of teeth (same pulses per revolution).  Since they're both made by GM, the tooth count is probably standardized. It should work the first time, if you have a problem than you'll need to swap the two wires.

Future state I will not need the wheel spacers, but for now I got a set of take off wheels from a C6. I will be getting custom wheels in the future. I will add some more photos.

This forum is not sold out to a gigantic money gobbling corporation like the majority of automotive forums including the other kappa forums.  :thumbs:

They bought out all these forums, then integrated their own forum software package to blast people with advertisements and track them.  A few years ago, this was brought to light when they got hacked and most people didn't know why they needed to change their passwords on several totally different car platform forums.  It was because they are all connected to a single system that got compromised.

I am new here, and new to Solstice. I've had my car for two weeks now and will put several thousand miles on it before I make any decisions on what I may or may not want to change, so I'm just sort of watching to see what Solstice owners are doing. Big brakes are always good, but it looks like the shocks and springs are stock, and it seems that one of the first things done to these cars are shocks and springs. And just for curiosity, what is the copper line in the background?

Looks like copper tubing, maybe it's copper clad metal line.  Using copper tube is dangerous, look at the working pressure: https://www.engineeringtoolbox.com/copper-tubes-dimensions-pressure-d_84.html

Copper starts to anneal around 800F, that is pretty extreme but it's possible for the rotors to exceed this temp hardcore racing.

In addition, compression fittings specifically say on the box not to use with braking systems.

These days, most auto parts store offer easy to bend brake lines, combine that with a flare tool + bender + cutter then you can custom build any brake line.

If it is really is the brake line, change it to steel for safety sake. It's cheap, premade, and available in any parts store. A 20 or 30 inch one should cost about five dollars or so and will have two nuts and a double flair on both ends.

The copper line referred to in the photo is in fact a break line. It is a Copper Nickel alloy that is rated and designed for break lines. I did a fair amount of research before selecting this material. I purchased the tube from a local automotive parts store and it cam with one end already flared and the other end straight cut. After bending the tube and cutting to length, I then flared the other end. I will see if I can find the test results I found comparing steel and the copper nickel alloy.

Can you see the reluctor ring teeth?  Maybe pull the sensor and look inside, need to have the same teeth count.  This may be the problem.  If you have an oscilloscope you should be able to count it that way test the solstice and corvette to compare.  In addition, you can compare the signal strength, magnitude of the sinusoid.

Example signal:


At work we have expensive equipment to emulate speed sensor outputs to feed the ECU, where the dyna sends the speed to the emulator then the emulator sends the signal to the ECU.  I have never programmed this equipment so I don't have deep knowledge of the nuances here to get it to work...this is just proof you can spoof the signal without using the exact setup the car came with.

I looked up copper brake lines also, and learned something new today. Glad for that. I just retired from 40 or so years in the auto parts business and had never heard of copper brake lines. Thanks for the incite.

@steel mesh, those are like the lines I got. Only difference is I swapped out the black painted fittings for yellow zinc coated fittings to further protect it from corrosion.
