Topic: Stop/Tail/Turn "added" into the reverse lights locations on my Solstice

I posted this on the other board as well, but I don't want to hoard the info (and I just want to show off my work a little bit :-)).  I embarked on the journey to convert my reverse lights to tail lights something like two years ago.  Version 1.0 was ok, but there were some definite issues regarding serviceability, brightness, and having to relocate reverse lights.  Version 2.0 took care of all of that.  I call it Operation Christmas Tree 2.0 (I want the back end of my baby lit up like a Christmas Tree when I step on the brakes; I'd rather be obnoxious than rear-ended.  I have to admit, I didn't have to do nearly as much with this version as the previous one, primarily because my job kept me so busy that I didn't have time to work on it and the industry caught up (for lack of a better term, I'm not that arrogant). These lights are actually made for Semi Tractors. They are made by a non sponsor so I'll leave them out of it for now. The most important part is that supposedly this is new two-color from a single diode technology. Red is the primary color, and when white (auxiliary color) is activated, it "cancels" red by default. So effectively I have added a set of stop and tail lamps to the rear end, without giving up the reverse lights, because they do that too. I have to say, they are oodles brighter than version 1.0 and noticeably brighter than the factory tail lamps, as well as the upgraded set that I am running. If someone wants, I can give the full run down of all the lights on the rear end. Suffice to say the only factory lights left on the car are in the dash....and there's a plan in the works for those too bwaaaahahahahaha. Keep in mind, these lights will also perform the turn function, I just chose not to use it because of the flasher module I am using and I want brake lights in the rear more than I want turn lights. You can get the Youtube to embed if you remove the "s" from https at the front of the URL.

As far as the Google Drive images, as far as I am aware there is not an easy way to embed those images from that service. You would be better hosting the pics from Flicker or another hosting site. Problem is from my understanding is that those images, although you are sharing them, are not public. If you were to post the link without the {IMG} tags (in square brackets of course) a clickable link will result.

@Sly Bob - thank you the tips to edit.  I did all of them, and while the links worked for pictures, I don't think it embedded the youtube link.  Either way, you made it happen, so a quick thumbnail preview is there for anyone.  I didn't take the time to do a full write up on How To for this because it would be quite involved and I wasn't sure anyone else even wants to do it.  If someone does, I will most certainly take the time to do a write up with pics, and maybe some video.  I did manage to snap a few pics while I was in the process of modifying these to fit.

Just clarifying, the light controller computer running the lights is from the semi-truck company? Or did you make a diy light controller? Pretty sure you can mention the name of the company as long as you're not associated with them.

Keith, when you post a YouTube video simply drop the full URL in the post without any URL tags. You still have to remove the "s" from https but the URL tags is why the video in your post isn't working.

@Steelmesh - the flash controller for the lights is an aftermarket product not from Trux.  I bought it when I put together version 1.0 about a year and a half ago.  At the time, it was the only fully adjustable flasher module on the market.  I can adjust speed of flashes(ex: 3/sec) as well as the duration of flash time(ex: 8 seconds).  I bought about three different flasher modules before I found the fully adjustable module.  I wish I had bought a spare.  The module doesn't have a brand name on it, and I'm going to look back through my amazon purchases, but I don't think I ordered it from there.  If you're curious about a controller for the LEDs in the lights, its 100% completely self contained.  The lights have a 3 pole connection that uses a standard wiring hardness.  Then the auxilliary (white light) uses a bullet connector.  They kept it sleek and simple.  The lights by themselves are impressive and at only $40/ea, completely affordable.  I think I was less than $150 in parts and supplies for this mod if I include the fiberglass that I used on the back of the lights, the wiring harnesses, the weatherstripping, you get the idea.  It's a fairly cheap mod.  And these are by far the brightest lights on the rear of the car, not to mention the white lights are definitely brighter than stock by a bunch.  Here's a link to a video of the lights installed on a Semi Tractor, which is what I think these were meant for anyway.
