Around here for jury duty they ask if you are or know a lawyer?  A yes answer gets you excused.  When I worked on customer aircraft I probably knew 80% of the lawyers in town.

Negative temps and holidays have slowed my progress a bit but it's supposed to be in the 50s this weekend so I hope to get some work done on it.  I hope to have it done this spring.

Joe is one county over from me, granted, but that doesn't work here. My uncle is a retired public defender, knew the trial lawyers, and I still got selected to sit on the jury.

Joe, over here they do allow you to defer your time if you have something like that planned. May be worth looking in to, it worked for my wife and a buddy this past year.

We will cover around 10500 miles to get there (OK, 8k of those will be air transport).

Our Kappa will stay at home though.

As said above, will be nice to put faces to names and experience the Kappa community and drives. We are looking forward to it.

In my county, if they find out you are an engineer, they will almost always kick you off the jury.  Too analytical.  Waste too much time trying to do a detailed analysis of all the evidence.  Bad influence.

I have to say, it's a bit shocking to see how many of the stalwart Kappa fanatics have sold their cars and moved on.  I along with many others have followed your exploits as far back as 2007 when we got our cars and stumbled upon the Solstice forum.  I learned a lot from all of you.  Now to see that for what ever reason you have parted from your beloved Kappa has come as a bit of a shock.

Of course, it depends on each individuals' circumstances.  And I have been fortunate that at my "advanced" years I am still working full time, getting pay checks from four different "funding streams" LOL and really enjoying continuing to add mods to both our cars.  I guess it's the engineer in me but I am pretty much always on the lookout for the next mod.  :-)

Hope to put a face with some of the famous Kappa names in June.

And if you have nothing better to do, you can come over and help out with the Kappa class where we get to educate novice owners about their cars.  It can be both fun, rewarding and amazing.

BTW - different track - @elff are you going to be there?  Or someone close to you (maybe Reed/Shiny)?  I have a couple of pieces of Jeep commemorative stuff that I've been holding for a few years(!) to give to you and thought this might be a time to finally pass it on.  Nothing too fancy, so don't get too excited.
