Is nothing sacred anymore? Your insurance company will do pretty well anything to find out how you drive. Be careful what apps you install on your mobile phone.

With Gas Buddy at least, you have to opt in, and the opt-in page pretty much says your data is going to insurance companies.  It says words to the effect of" "do you want to save on insurance?". So, no, no thanks.

I know some years ago I had an app on my phone from the insurance company. They said that it couldn't raise your rates but could possibly lower them. I tend to stop as soon as the light turns yellow and was penalized for that. Certainly won't allow an app like that on my phone again.

That's why I use GJ's name and address when I sign up for that stuff.  He's in Cali so his insurance is already too much money for no good reason.

I am surprised Google and Facebook have not been found to be doing the same thing
People don't seem to mind giving either them all their information for free.

First, yes I'm still alive! :D

That's the reason why I don't own a smartphone!!

I've a Sony Ericson from 2002 and that's all I need.

I'm not on any social media.

Flip phone for the win!

I am getting close to ditching a smart phone as well. Especially with everything going AI

Yeah Elf, there are some pretty compelling flip phones out there now. I've considered doing the same.

I save on all sorts of things by claiming to be Canadian, so I get it!
