No radio audio or "Chimes"
« on: October 24, 2024, 02:52:22 PM »
Hey gearhead friends. I have a buddy who messaged me stating his Stock Monsoon system in is solstice is giving him grief. The radio functions all seem to work, but he is getting no audio output to any of the speakers. Along with that, the car "chime" functions are not working. No audio for the blinkers, no audio indicating the doors are open. Does anyone have any ideas?

The audio for the chimes and the blinkers all go through the radio. Hard to say what the issue might be without being there, he's checked connections and fuses? Fuses 6 and 23 in the footwell fuse block are the fuses for the amp and radio.

Does he have the audio muted via the steering wheel buttons?

Another possibility is that if a speaker wire somewhere in the car is shorted to ground it could cause the issue your friend is having.

Thanks Bob, he told me he has checked all his fuses. I will mentioned to him that maybe he bumped the mute button on his stereo. I just thought I would throw it out here to see if anyone may have experienced the same thing he is experiencing. Thanks so much for responding. Sean

It plays through the left speaker only.  Go through the front to back, left to right adjustments.  Set all the audio to the front left and play music.  Do you hear anything?  Speaker could be bad.
