Topic: LE5 heater inlet and outlet hose identification and part numbers

Started doing internet research tonight, looking to replace all the coolant hoses on the car (along with all the old eBay oil lines I built way back when), to ensure reliability on the track.  I'll stop by the dealer when I can to see what we can find. 

Here is what I got:


Here is what the service manual is showing, note the LE5 vs. LNF call outs, and that my 2006 looks like it has LNF hoses:








And the only hose I can find with the plastic connector is this, the gates website has no application info for 23333, even denoting inlet or outlet. And 23332 doesn't exist and 23334 isn't for this car. Rockauto lists 23333 it as "Thermostat to Heater" and amazon fitment says ok for 2006 kappa:

Wonder how universal those plastic connectors are [to the heater core] and if I can adapt some silicone heater hose to it.  Found this picture of a kappa hose from the other forum:


The lower radiator hose is quite molded swooping around the back of the engine so probably wise to stick with that, however I'm thinking about going all silicone heater hose for the rest of the system.

I stopped by the dealer, using the VIN to look it up, their diagram shows the "LNF" type of hose layout.  Get what I pay for buying $10 ebay pdf service manuals.

Discontinued Part numbers:
19129866 inlet
19129867 outlet

Showed him that picture of the disassembled hose, he said those should be universal and he pulled up the dorman website and may have found the barb adapters that can work:

*would need to go from 5/8 to 3/4 hose to connect to the engine

I think I'd prefer to go with silicone hose here too if these work.

Thanks, that's what I figured when I didn't see a detailed discussion on the topic. Also, these discontinued parts hurts the "Sol", so we've got to get creative now.  I'll see what I can do to make silicone hose work with the dorman fittings.

Yeah as the cars get older this will be an even bigger problem down the road.
