Wheel opinions wanted
« on: March 11, 2009, 02:33:27 PM »
OK Folks I am in dire need of your opinions regarding my current wheel options. Ok so after putting my Sky in storage I decided I was out of love with my SSR Type C's and I was all set to special order some Alleggerita HLT in gold when TR decided to cut the prices on Ultraleggras by 25%. So here's my issue I Love the Alleggerita BUT it's going to cost me about an extra $100 per wheel. Also they only are available in 18 x 8 so the max tire width I'd be able to run in the rear is a 245. Now on to the Ultraleggra's, they weigh between 1 and 2 pounds more per wheel than the Alleggerita. Also seems EVERY Black Redline has either Ultraleggras or J2's which led me to buy the SSR's in the first place. I have no idea what I'm going to do so I'm appealing to the forum at large for help in making this decision. Any comments both negative and positive will be greatly appreciated!!

I can tell you that the last two make a :censor: for washing.  Why not just paint your SSR's  If you're not into competitive racing, the weight shouldn't be an issue.  What color is your Sky?

It's a Onyx (Black), I'm not to worried about the cleaning, It's not my DD and I haven't had any issues (yet) with dirt accumulation. I agree the OZ's would definitely wouldn't be a spray and wipe job like the SSR's!

The gold one will look sick on your Onyx.  You could do some gold pin stripping on your car to match

I'll take the SSRs off your hands.  What do you want for them?  What condition are they in?  No curb rat bites?

Sorry I already promised them to a co-worker who owns a Redline, if I do make the switch. He offered me 225 a wheel when he heard I was considering the change so if he backs out that would be my asking price.

What Joe said.  You are welcome to the wheels if RUTurbo's buyer falls through.  I think if I replace them I will want to run more rubber in the rear and will go with a staggered config.

Joe/Ben,
The painter wants the number in the glovebox door.

I'll check.  Joe, thanks for the link.  The rows and columns of codes are intimidating.
