I like the flat black accents against a gloss black car. Wrapping the accents in CF would have given a similar effect as well.

I've been debating doing my car matt black since its going to the body shop soon to be put back together. I'm still not sure..... most likely staying w/ oem black and just vinyl wrap the car later.

Anyone know the cost roughly to wrap the enitre car?

DirtyMike, i would definetely like to see your Sky in matte black!!!
in Greece it is something like 1000 euros, meaning $1300-1400.
in US i suspect it SHOULD be a bit cheaper, so my guess would be a total cost of $1000.

one more option i am thinking about is Matte white with matte black hood and some more matte black accents

mike the vinyl wrap will range from $2500-4000 depending on the shop.

just make sure go to a shop where they've done alot of car wraps already.    And ask for warranty......and make sure they'll put in writing that they will not slice your paint with their cutters.  That's the biggest complaint of owners who had their cars wrapped.   When they decided to remove the vinyl (since they're already sick of it).........they discovered that there's a lot of cut marks on their paint :(

on the other hand, if you have your car painted matte/flat/satin color.....you can't easily buff away scratches.   If you buff that portion/part......that will become SHINY...and it will look bad..since the rest of your car is flat.

I'm trying to also decide what paint job I'll be doing next year.   There's a lot of pros and cons.....

I am actually thinking of having a SATIN BLACK paint job......but we'll see.......

I've heard the same thing with some clear bra installs.
I just can't believe someone would think they can cut that stuff on the car and not cut into the paint.

yup I'm sure about the cost.

I've been researching since three months ago.....

I was actually planning to send my car to California since there's a shop there.....who does a great job in wrapping.

I am not sure where you got $1500 cost.   Material alone will cost you $500 for a 52" x 240" vinyl

like what I previously stated, there are pros and cons between paint job and vinyl wrap.

if you go with paint........especially if it will be a different color (from red to black)....you have to deal with DMV to have it changed.   Then the resale value of the car will suffer since it doesnt have the original paint.  The other thing with a matte paint, if you have scratches, you can't buff it out since that portion will become shiny!   Some matte paint job will "chalk" and some say it fades or sumthin. And lots more

with a vinyl wrap, you can protect your original paint!   Resale value of your car will not deteriorate.   Ever wonder why those owners of Lambos, ferraris, porsches, had their cars vinyl wrapped instead of re-painting? ;)

Plus with vinyl wrap, if you get sick of the color, you can have it removed, then you have your original color back.  In addition, the "matte" color of the vinyl will not "chalk".    If you scratched a part of your car, you can easily replaced that vinyl portion, and make it look brand new.

Problem with vinyl, is especially if you have a different color vinyl from your original paint........the color of the underneath of your hood will not be covered.  The vinyl will easily melt due to heat of your engine :(

i got it from Kagem who did it 1 year ago, total cost 900 euros, approximately 1200$. last week i got an offer for mine too, around 1500$.
but as i said, that s for Greece. and i reasonably assumed that in US it would be at the worst the same price.
since this is the price in US, i believe it s not worth it.
Sky888 in Sky/GT if you get a scratch, i.e. in the hood, then it is almost half the car vinyl you have to replace (true story)....
DirtyMike bring your Sky here, have vacation and have your car vinyl wrapped here !! :-)

that s the second thing i find cheaper in Greece compared to US . and probably the only two...since everything else, i bought it from US

Sky888, i saw u r looking for paint options. maybe u could also consider matte white with matte black details (like hood, mirrors, windshield frame etc). that s my current dream!!

George my friend, 1000 euros for us here are exactly 1000$ for the US guys, you only compare the money if you are to buy something from the US. So if you lived in the states the amount of one thousand dollars would sound exactly as one thousand euros you hear now as a Greek. I see you struglle yourself with currency mate, forget about it. The vinyl wrap is much more expensive for our friends living in the US, you should also hear the money that were asked from a friend of ours here in Greece that wanted to wrap his car, sit please.... 2500 euros, from 3M brand. So the guys that wrapped me and told you your price are very very cheap, for a very good job. Think it once more, i'd love to have a twin polar brother....

it never stops Mike...trust me!  lol!

there's always something to spend on ....on our lil hobby! :)

anywho.....just make sure they're using 3M  film.    The cheap vinly will rip off easily, will bubble, or fade in color.   Plus the workmanship should be optimum.....or else, the vinyl wrap on your car will suck......

Ou should see the good vinyl work........they look like painted! You can't even see the seems....even up close ;)
