Remove the wrinkles from your BUTTress!
« on: May 08, 2009, 09:59:33 PM »
Just in case you don't make it over to the "other boards" - there is a cool, cheap and easy mod (my favorite attributes) to remove the wrinkles from your buttress.  I helped "mistergib" work out the details on his awesome idea of a 1" waterproof foam insert to go in the buttress to remove the wrinkles.  Although there is a bit of drama in the thread (I believe one of our own helped sort this out) the idea is sound, the execution is simple and results are great!

Here is the link to the thread:

Johnny,
You are comming to Joe's in two weeks right,  Why don't you get the matterials, I am sure (I for one) would want to do this mod while we are there.  I was going to ask Joe to look into it, but since you have already done it.....

I know of at least 4 to 5 sets.  The foam has to be purchased in a specific size?  do you have extra foam left and what was the cost for the materials?

Hey! Great mod!  Please put me down for this at the Md. Mod Meet.  I will try to pick up the foam to bring up there.
I'm very intelligent, but I mask it by doing stupid stuff.

See the MD Mod meet thread - Critterman and I are working out how many sets to bring materials for - I guess it wouldn't be more than 10 or so bucks per pair (plus one beer for transportation).  Once I get a final count - I'll buy the materials and tally things up and let everyone know how much it is.
Performance Mods
- Wester’s Race Tune
- RPI Stage 2 IC and Dejon Piping
- RPI GT Exhaust and Catless Race DP
- Fujita CAI
- Saturn Motorsports Big Bore TB
