Ahhhhh, Got the power, but also the rain
« on: December 19, 2008, 07:24:52 PM »
Ok, I have had my GM tune for two days now and we also have had rain for two days.  It is driving me nuts.  I live in a rural area with lots and lots of twisty roads and now I have lots and lots of power but alas; no break in weather.

I want to go drivin!

Anyone else rained in or snowed in and feeling the need for some driving?  I already hate winter and it is not even here yet.  Just want some WOT action.

HELP

WX report says the next couple of days should be fine up your way --  Had a wonderful afternoon!  Temp was in the mid-60s so it was topdown Christmas shopping.  Ended coming across the James River into the sunset -- absolutely beautiful!!!!!!!!!!

Can't wait to hear your comparison with Wester's tune

I have been feeling the need to drive ever since the car got put away for the winter.  :ca: The foot of snow I could do without but I guess that's Canada.  :D

You know what makes you really appreciate snow?  Freezing rain and not just a thin layer from a rain shower but a full thunderstorm with lightning, high winds and about 1/2 inch or more of rain.  Last nights storm was one I could have done without.  No Solstice should have to witness such cruel weather let alone be driven in it, glad its not my daily driver but it did get to see outside when I opened the garage door this morning.  If cars could talk it would probably have been making fun of my truck for having to go out in that crap.

My car has been off the road since early November where is this global warming everyone seems to be complaining about?  I mean it was even snowing in Las Vegas the other day.

Oh well I guess its time to put away the convertibles and brake out the skis too bad central Illinois is as flat as my first girlfriend.

  My car is parked nightly in the garage but non the less it is my daily driver and if global warming is the trend, she'll be a plow before this winter is over

Cheers, It is Sat AM and raining right now.  It is 80% chance of rain Sunday.  I need to drive down your way.

Joe, I know I need to get there but having family over sunday, 20 relatives and Nancy will kill me if I do not help her today.  Wed, we go to SanDiego and Monday, I am booked.  Maybe Tuesday evening?  Does that work for you?  Are you working all week?

Do you guys know how to drive an automatic?

Lets see now...

R is for reverse

D is for dirt and

P is for pavement

does that sound right?

I think this was in the P for Pavement as it left tire on the pavement

Geeze, I thought R was for Race. That sure explains a lot.

If it was not for Darktech I would still have most of my tires on my rear wheel wells.  It had hanging rubber that Joe Jr. worked his butt off getting off.

Where is he anyway.  Deep, is he banned from this place?

Sol Asylum, I assume you watched the video?  Scared the heck out of me and left half my rear tires in the road and the other half on the wheel well.

It happened because I told DDM that it was a shame that an automatic transmission could not do a burn out.  He just said "Get in the car"

We hit 125 mph after the burn out.

I cried!

Yes I tried to watch the video but the visibility was kind of poor.  What did you guys do rent one of those fog machines or something?  Imagine using a GXP for a Halloween  party?  No one would expect a little 4 banger to do that would they.

I would like to see a Miata do that!

Wow!  Thanks for posting DeepblueGXP.  After watching and hearing this post, had to check the seat of my pants, to be sure.  My wife informs me that my hearing is as bad as it was before auditioning this post.  I did vicariously enjoy the sound of your tires spinning, but havn't been able to duplicate.  It's still winter here, and have had sleet, snow, and freezing drizzle since Christmas.  The sound of the tires spinning was somewhat therapeutic.  It makes me come to one conclusion.  I guess I need a new Tune!

I am anxious to take the car out too!  We had snow & ice last week then Saturday it was 63 but I was told I couldn't go for a joy ride because we had a bunch of people coming over!  I have no problems doing burnouts with my automatic  :brnout:  Actually my son knows when we come home I like to make the turn into the garage without touching the steering wheel   Just let the rear tires do all the work.

I think next summer I'll be getting on tire rack and purchasing another set of tires!  Another thread for another day....
