Good I thought that he would need the adjustable bushings for the end links but wasn't sure.  Hey do they make those so that you can lube them?

I wonder how many people will take these comments seriously

OK.  To be clear.  The brackets DO have bushings.  That's where they guys have been putting the polyurethane bits.  And the end links, well, are links.  I have had the links apart (don't ask) and they are a metal stud in a rubber cup type of deal.

I have been pushing vendors for bearings to replace the bushings.   And for bearing rod ends on the end links.   So there's no rubber or polyurethane anyplace.  No friction.  No binding.  Solid motion and weight transfer.

I would imagine a bearing within the sway bar mounts can't be a roller/ball style as there is no method to slide it in place due to the flattened ends. It would have to be a split flat bearing like on the crankshaft. (But a needle bearing type might work. Either would be costly.) Doubtful there would be a real benefit and the NVH would be negatively affected - or if you are from Alaska it would noisy !!!!!!! I know from personal experience that Heim jointed end links sure create a racket. The nice thing about the poly bushings is that they eliminate a vast percentage of slop but really does not not negatively affect the ride and noise. I have done poly bushings everywhere on a TR8 and now the Sky. All up side on both cars. What bearings DO allow is no/low friction, and THAT would be REAL nice. But that would require different control arms for that application. Circuit Motorsports has control arms but $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ are involved.

Maybe I calling bearings bushings or something, I know there is some king of ribber in the end link, I also know SS is willing to make us replacement end links, complete. If we want them and would buy them. I don't know if there is an advantage to adjustable, that's why I asked. I don't think that have looked into it yet, they are just being really cool and trying to find out what we want. I met with the guys last night and there was a surprise for me, and a special guest more on that in another thread.

This was the reason for my question...
"they are a metal stud in a rubber cup type of deal." If we are replacing the bushings with urethane ones, then I would like to do the same to the end links.

Heim joint rod end links.  Noisy, but that's the ticket!

snapon, I know I have saved somewhere a racing catalog item for bearing equipped sway bar brackets. Whether they will fit this application, who knows.

But you are not catching me in another stupid this time.

Brought the coupe home today.  Holy crap its sweet.  A cruise tomorrow (more break in miles), and then autox debut at FedEx Sunday!

I talked to my buddy at the dealership and when i gave him the PN 25919110 he said they were discontinued.

Maybe he's wrong?
Do you guys know if these are on back order right now?

What if I place my order and they are back ordered and eventually discontinued, is there anyway to get my money back because GMP Direct clearly says i cant return the product for any reason :-\

It would be kind of hard to return it if you can't get it in the first place.  I would think they would just refund your money if they can't deliver it to you but check with them.

I order mine through my dealer and he said they are on backorder, they also match the GMParts Direct price + shipping.
If the parts are never delivered I can get my money back from my dealer, all I need is my receipt.

I thought these were the current part numbers for the ZOK Parts for the GXP.

25849163       Front Spring
25855621       Front Stabilizer Shaft
25855626       Rear Spring
25855622       Rear Stabilizer Shaft
25855623       Rear Stabilizer Shaft Insulator
25855624       Rear Stabilizer Insulator Clamp
25877302       Rear Suspension Support Crossmember

i just placed an order the the rear from my dealer for  the 622 and they were back east. But they were not $150.  $270 was what I was quoted.

If there is a revised part number I should be ordering, please let me know.

Thanks!

25855621 and 25855622 have new part numbers as posted.
When you order with the old part number it will be converted to the new ones.
However there is no rear bar at the moment, hoping once the factory opens in July 17th we will get some in before they shutdown for good at the end of July.
I order both bars just in case it is no longer available, keeping my fingers cross.

LatinVenom,

I must have missed it, but I see:

25919110  as a listed number.

I will assume that replaces  25855621
I dont see the one that replaces 25855622

I spoke to my dealer Yesterday and he is not reporting a part number change or price reduction.

I was on the phone when called up the automated part look up and it didnt mention a part number change and it sounded like parts were in Lancing (fronts/rear).
I will have him look this number up the new number.

Sorry for being dense, but I want to make sure the right thing is ordered and when the dealer is not 100% I want to make sure at least I am.

It was the end of the world when the GMPP packages went on b/o for 4-6 weeks earlier this year, too. It coincided with the world wide backorder of the sensors. And that seemed to coincide with the sudden uptick in demand for the kicts. That sensor was not used on a whole lot of (European only) vehicles. The pipeline git sucked dry and Bosch was slow to fill it. Now we have a domestic product that had a significant price reduction and a sudden uptick in demand for what was probably (and correctly) tagged as a slow turn item. The pipeline got sucked dry, GM (and now a bunch of its suppliers) have filed bancruptcy, and the pipeline will need to be refilled. My Hendricks parts manager friend will find out for us and I'll post.

I asked about both the front and back bars. -

Could you check p/n 25855621 for a) description (it is supposed to be the Pontiac Solstice GXP Z0K front sway bar), b) SCCA price, and c) availability? Thanks.

Bob Buxbaum
Kansas City Region SCCA

Answer was

P/N 25855621 changes to P/N 25919109 (one number off from the P/N in your other email).  Yes, looks like front ZOK GXP bar.  GM has them and your cost is $113.72.  P/N 25919110 is the same price but GM is out of stock.  Looks like it would take awhile to get one.  Rear ZOK bar right?

I followed up asking for some insight on the backorder problem -

Any idea what the situation is on the b/o status? Supplier? Chapter 11 impact?

I'll post.

I recently ordered (two)  gxp zok rear bars with the NEW numbers. (two cars)

Dealer said one came in but under the OLD number and at the OLD price.

I am having a difficult time with the dealer as to what price should be paid.

How should I proceed?  Is there something I can say or process the dealer can do to sell it to me at the lower price?

If YOU ordered two of the NEW part number, just wait for them to come in. If THAT doesn't work I can get them for $108 in KC. You'll have to WAIT, but I absolutely KNOW you will get what you ordered. As for how to "handle" your dealer parts department, suggest that they RETURN the one you DIDN'T order. If you ordered a G6 from them and they said a G8 showed up and you HAD to buy the car you didn't order, what would you do?  :censor:  :bs: :censor:  :bs: :censor: Exactly, so do THAT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I told them, and they new, that I ordered the new number.

They said that GM supercedes part numbers.... sometimes backwards. Seems weird to me.

Ok. Ill cancel/reject this part on my order, tell them to send it back and then tell them to reorder my original part number.  The parts mgr that I was dealing with doesnt seem like he will be helpful.

I guess I just needed to know that Ill still will be able to get one.... Sometimes having something in the hand is better than waiting for waiting for the better deal later.

Is there some document that I can give them discussing why the new part number is the proper one?

I asked him why other dealers are able to get them and at the lower price.  He says they order from the same system.  Seems like my dealer needs to investigate further, but either doesnt know how, doesnt know what to do, or just doesnt want to.
