Bob you and U-238 have Sky's mine are Torx I looked again, it is possible they changed them at some point. T30 Torx fit perfect, we are going to Jmacs Sky I am hoping he has allen's.

Well, the T30 torx fit fine, but when I put some pressure on it I couldn't figure out why it wasn't biting. Got a mirror, took a look, and lo and behold it's an allen key.

Frankly, I'd rather have a torx than allen key.  :idk:

Oh, did some more "spirited" driving with the new sway bar. Before, on a certain 2-lane corner I'm familiar with, I'd start in the left lane, and end up drifing into the right lane when driving at speed. Now, the car will stay in it's lane, and you can feel the tires scrambling for grip. The new bar made a world of difference. Looking forward to the A/X meet on Saturday. Still haven't ever done A/X, so with a few fellow Kappa owners attending, now would be a perfect time to go.

Maybe it is an allen I do have new contacts and can barely see, they get adjusted tomorrow night maybe I will look again after I get new eyes. I am helping Jmac do his Tuesday night.

Chemist if you find someone with a GXP that gets the Z0K bar, the FE3 bar is the Z0K bar for the N/A, I passed mine down to Critter and Jmac is giving his to Smartin. So for about $20 in new bushings you get a an upgrade.

Is it with the bigger rear sway bar, should be 26 mm at least, 24 mm is stock.

Yes and the pictures of the bushings are posted, Jegs and Summit Racing both stock them, the rear are 26 mm for the stock bar 27 mm for the Z0K and 33mm for the front stock, just look them up under Energy suspension, by the size they are universal bushings, get the ones with the grease fittings.

LV, no bushings at the END of the sway bars, only links. The links are like two tie rod ends, but smaller, with a solid rod in between them.

Hey Bob if you were able to get replacement end links, adjustable or fixed? With urethane bushings of course, The guys from SS asked me. I told them there might be a market for both, I would not know how to adjust them, but I could learn.

So im probably gonna order the Rear Sway bar.  I just want to make some things clear.

1 Rear Z0K Bar
2 27mm greased fitting bushings
2 33mm greased fitting bushing to replace the stock front bushings (this is worth swapping right??)
1 Tube of Synthetic Lube


Sound correct? How difficult is it to swap the front bushings?

Dealer quoted $130 for the bar, im looking on gmp direct and they have it for $125 shipped.  Might aswell go with the dealer if they tell me it's not back ordered.

Thanks guys!  I read the entire thread word for word but these are just some questions I'd like answered before I purchase everything.

you have it correct haven't done the front yet, so don't know but can't be very hard. Just get an 18mm ratcheting box end to do the back, and read Jmac instructions

Deep - you are right - I did grease my front bushings when they sarted squeaking this past winter - they aren't hard to get to or get off at all.  I eventually had the dealer replace them with the TSB bushings (nylon I think).

Latin - not aware of bushings needed for the links - at least I didn't see any when we were under the car.

 There are no bushings for the end links yet, but I am working on it, Solstice Sport may make some for us, with adjustable end links.

Lots of sway bar links DO have straight rods that are threaded at each end, and are secured to the sway bar ends and control arms with a sandwich of nut, washer, bushing, washer, sway bar end or control arm, washer, bushing, washer, and the unthreaded portion of the rod. THESE systems CAN use poly bushings. Ours have what looks like tie rod ends on each end of a rod. The tie rod ends go through the end of the sway bar and a part of the lower comtrol arms. Look at them - they are all the same. I still use the OEM end links on the GM sway bars, and on the custom big front bar there are adjustable emd links with Heim joints (ball ends). THEY ARE NOISY. The only reason I see for adjustable end links is to zero load then with the driver in the car. Not hard to do, and nearly useless unless you are the late Mark Donahue, or the top 1 percentile of race car drivers. BTW, with a bit of Google work, you can find them. There is just NO slop that will be eliminated with Heim jointed end links on our cars. None. Get the poly sway bar MOUNT bushings and YOU ARE DONE. That is, of course, unless you want to tell people you have adjustable end links.

BTW, I had stated earlier that a 6mm allen was neded for the end links. WRONG. They are FIVE mm allens. A T30 Tork WILL SEEM to work in there, but they will not stand any serious torque load and it is only a coincidence that a T30 "fits" in a 5mm allen .
