Damn it now everyone knows! shhh don't tell the guys on the BB.

I just ordered two, figured be twice as stiff that way. Just kidding one for me and one for Jmac. Yes I will be selling my old sway bar to some lucky N/A owner, Critter has first dibs. I wonder if we need new bushings, Z0K bar is same size as stock GXP bar just thicker.

I ordered new urethane bushings from Jegs, they are 27 mm and with shipping work out to $20 a set.

Has anyone found some teflon bushings for our sway bars? I'd like to be rid if the stock bushings squeaking for good.

The ones I ordered have grease fittings on them, the are not rubber like the stock,  they are just universal sway bar bushings so if you find teflon in 27 mm they should work. Even if you don't upgrade the sway bar these should be better than stock and you can lube them. Heck why not for $20. I think I will do the front ones too just the bushings, after I do the rear bar.

Shoot, ones like that with grease fittings alone would make life much simpler. $20? That's almost a no-brainer.

Yea I didn't have to think to long about it, the stock ones are about the same price and rubber with no grease fitting. I should have gotten the ones for the front too. Like I said these should help any GXP even with the stock sway bar. I bet it takes all of 10 minutes to change them too.

Goat,
If you decide to order the fronts, order another set of backs to go with your old swaybar :)

Seems like if someone wants my old sway bar they should order a new set of rear bushings and an extra set of front ones for me and some crabs at Chandlers  Cantlers. Jonymac will be doing his too if there are other NA owners that want an inexpensive handling upgrade, one certain spirited woman driver comes to mind.

I read up on a few people that have installed the Eibach sway bar, same procedure, I think I saw mostly 2 hours some said drop the exhaust others didn't, neither one of us has a stock exhaust but mine drops in about 2 minutes just remove one band clamp, this one time at band clamp, and it's down.  Soooooo maybe if we say it will take 4 hours we can make a parts run to NAPA. I had wings at NAPA last night, I just love there headlight display, and the upholstery was very nice too.

In my never ending search for truth justice and the American way, I have discovered another tidbit of info. It would seem that GM, and the urethane bushing makers recommend that you do not use a petroleum based grease to lube the sway bar bushings, this can cause the rubber/urethane to harden and crack. They recommend a synthetic based grease with PTFE, the one they spec only comes in 5 gallon buckets, just a bit more than I need. I did find some in a smaller amount 3 ounces for $3.33 on Amazon or at Ace Hardware. It's called Super Lube Synthetic Grease With PTFE Teflon. I am now trying to find it is a grease tube for a grease gun.

The rear GXP/Z0K bar is STIFFER than the FE3 rear bar by about 18-20%, but I don't know the dimension.

Both the Z0K and the stock GXP/RL are the same diameter they are both hollow, the Z0K has thicker walls so it is stiffer, both are 27mm diameter

I had not thought of that, but why yes it could. I am only going by quoted specs so far, but my Z0K bar and Jonymacs should be here this week, but he is not getting his until I get my damn doors handles! I don't care how many parts we get from NAPA.
