I should get my handles today, they went on vacation to the NASSM, then back to Atlanta.

Im hoping to have my sways and rear brace by mid next week.  The sways have been at the dealer since the week before last.  The rear brace is taking forever.

There wouldn't be any issues putting GXP ZOK sways on an N/A, would there?  Other than getting the proper bushings?

A little FYI, good bike shops usually carry PTFE grease, if you need some right away. Maybe there's one on the way to NAPA?

Not really, but for a 2.4 you better get the front bar as well or the car will oversteer in a New York second.

Check this they sell the grease at Ace Hardware, who'd of thought that, not me. I got it on Amazon, it doesn't need to be PTFE, it needs to be synthetic it's the petroleum that drys out the urethane and makes them crack. Amazon has the tubes for a grease gun too.

I am with Bob, on an NA you need to do both or get someones old GXP bar they aren't using anymore with the stock front one. The stock GXP bar is the Z0K bar for the NA. By the way the front bushing for the GXP is 1 5/16" same as 33mm both Summit and Jegs stock them for under $20 and they have Zerk fittings. I have been having a ball taking 90 degree turns with out slowing down, car just stays flat, it's cool.

See Bob, that's why I told you to be quiet about the part number until I got mine ordered . I had a vision! Sorry guys I didn't figure these would be easy to get when everyone saw the $300 price drop, they were originally almost $400, now $102 + shipping.

Thanks for getting that updated part number Bob!

My ZOK bar still hasn't shipped. :gaah:

Ordered mine a week ago and it showed up yesterday. Bushings in transit from Jegs as we speak. Streak will be back on his jackstands Thursday. The car is cornering really flat with the heavy springs but still needs a bit more help. So the Z0K rear bar and the solid 32mm front bar are going on.

I think the NEW list price is about $150-$160 while the OLD price was ~$250-$300. Whatever it WAS it is real cheap now.

I wasn't :censor: ing you out Bob, I got mine, and Jonymacs. When he gets back it may be "lost" if a better offer comes along, no I wouldn't do that who would I go to NAPA with.

Now that Cheney  :goat:  is out of office, the "undisclosed secret location" is now a special order call center for incredibly well connected people such as myself.   :yay: :yay:   Actually, a Chevy dealership on the west side of KC that sells GM parts at 10% over net to SCCA members. They just order stuff AS SOON as one asks them to. Saves a day that way. Some places "bundle" special orders.

Same, took a week to get them but I can't imagine it is a heavily stocked part, anyone else that wants one now would be the time to get it on order. I think there may not be a huge supply of these.

It's a regular part number. They will keep them coming. There is no reason to believe it is a "high rate of travel" item so bin stock my have a slow turn and thus run out from time to time.

I'm just worried that if they're out of ZOK bars they go ahead and ship a stock one. Can you say owned? No returns, and I've heard of a few people getting screwed this way when they try and order Opel parts for their Skys.

I actually suspect they would more likely have a Z0K bar before a stock one, how often do people replace stock sway bars. My concern is this is a GM part, they don't make Kappa's anymore, no one NEEDS a Z0K sway bar, so are they going to continue to make them. They are required to make spare parts, no requirement to make performance parts. :goat:

So in an interesting turn of events, today the charge for the new sway bar no longer appears on my account. According to the website, the order hasn't been cancelled or anything. Something tells me they're backordered...

EDIT: Nevermind, it just shipped.

Cool LV, I am very curious about the front bar. I went with SOB and didn't get the front one he said he didn't think it was needed. That is a pretty big bar already, much larger than the back. I would not use the factory bushings they are soft rubber, but whichever ones you use use synthetic grease so the rubber or /urethane will not dry out and crack.

The front bar is bigger on MOST cars as so much load is put into the front end during cornering. The Kappas come with SOFTER front springs than the back so there more need for bar created roll stiffness because GM ALWAYS designs in understeer and ALWAYS underdamp the suspension to some level (not so bad in the Kappas). My Solo setup has equal rate springs f&r and now I am tweaking further with bars. Almost all of the quickest Solstices in Solo use (A & C Stock) that are using the Z0K package are NOT using Z0K front bar to make the car more neutral - very effective on the GXP. On the street a 2.4 might do better with the firmer front bar as the f/r weight balance is almost 50/50 while the 2.0 is 52/48. If one wants a bit more roll stiffness in FRONT there is a FREE way of getting it - a drill bit !!!!!!!!! Looking at the end of the front bar, there is plenty of room to create a new hole for the links. Drill a hole just a few 1/16ths back from the "squish" point of the bar and POOF, stiffer bar !!!!!!!!! Works, too. Now that I have saved you all that cash, please send money as I need new Hoosiers !!!!!!!

:agree:  Too much front bar on my GXP as it is.  Makes the car push a lot.

Quest has been to stiffen the rear to compensate.  Adjustable coilovers and ProBeam did the trick for me.  Still have few more clicks on the coilovers.

I most of the time listen to SOB and Ben, who? They push our cars harder than just about anyone. I have the coilovers and all the DDM stuff and the Z0K rear bar, the bar seemed to wake up the coilovers. I will be AutoXing with this Ben guy soon, who?
