Cortex tuner from Werks is this legit?

Sounds like BS to me, why be limited by a box when you can use HP tuners on your PC

I don't see anything bs about it, its just like the ppc tuner but for half price. Plus it can change shift points on the auto tranny which no one can do right now for the solstice, and to some this is a big plus. Im not too sure about the hp increase, i bet they can squeeze a lot more out of it since you can update the software in the box.
While i agree hptuners can do more, but give the average person a laptop with hptuners and they'll say no thank you, gimme a hand held tuner and i'll push this button and that button to get my hp fix.

UncleFester was working with SuperChips to develop that.  They were going to become a supporting vendor on the forum but I never heard from them.  Then we learned Werks picked up their product.  Smart move, saved on advertising on the BB.

Cool. Now I know. Thanks for the info. I guess some of the old fogies out there aren't into those personal computers ;)

These are great products but they tend to be middle of the road tunes, easy to use very cool not the most you can get out of the the car but they are not intended to be. They are NOT the only ones who can change shift points. For someone who wants a nice easy upgrade these are great. For those of us with loftier goals HP Tuners is a better option. By the way they are already selling this on eBay.

No to the Wester's, they have a canned tune built in, it would most likely work best on a stock car. You would certainly feel the difference.

I would think this device is very similar to the BSR tuning device.  Goat is right, usually they are more conservative with these tunes, as you can see from the HP and TQ increases they provide.
