Howdy,

I am ordering a fuze box cover for my Wicked and am wondering if your cover has the vinyl yellow color under the cover or did you use touch up paint?

 BTW your cover looks great!

 THX  Betty Ann

Betty Ann,
I do believe that one you quoted above is vinyl.

I ordered the Solstice GXP Custom Fuse Box Cover from Beach Party Custom Fuse Covers some time back and in combination with the MRZ Performance Billet Caps the engine compartment really looks awesome!  It is a great additon at very reasonable cost.

I received my Fuse Box Cover yesterday and I'm excited about installing it. I'm leaning towards the idea of painting the factory cover before I install the custom cover instead of using the vinyl.

Any pro's or con's regarding vinyl verses paint?

GXP Fetish :  My 1st cover was Painted to match Car .Then when I got my B/P cover I used the vinyl and it started coming loose. The Paint peeled off and was on the Back of the vinyl. Don't paint your cover. My 2nd Cover I made sure there was no paint on it. I installed my new cover and before removing any of the protective film cover I painted all the Detail to look like my Car.

I've had no problems with my painted cover.
Looks exactly like it did when I finished the painting.

I can make one with a round circle to hold your "beverage of choice". Does that count as a tool?

Maybe instead of a piece of aluminum or stainless steel you could make it out of some magnetic material.  That way Norm could put his hardware there and not have to search for it under the car later.

It's not really a slam on Norm.  Flat areas in engine compartments tend to be a place to lay tools and hardware while work is going on.  I used to do it all the time until I started working on aircraft, then I realized the potential to leave a tool in an engine nacelle and the problems that could cause, I broke that habit pretty quickly.  I have however found some real nice tools that people have left where they shouldn't have.

Bill - when posting to publicly accessible forums you should consider obfuscating your email address - at least something like "joe at domain dot com" - if you post your actual email and a spambot surfs this site you'll get a ton of spam.

And in a case like this you may be better served with a private message to BeachParty.

Cheers -
Don
Your highly detailed mods signature, while impressive, really really screws up Google & site searches.
