Nice to see the filters I use are on the good side of the list.
2005 Chevy Silverado Z71 Crew Cab, LM7 4L60E (What I traded my Kappa for. I regret nothing.)
2012 Chevy Camaro 2SS RS LS3 TR6060.
2021 Ram 2500 Cummins
2022 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon. 3.6, manual trans.

I wonder if this applies to our very weird, exposed filters. I know the K&N for our cars is not made by Champion, it's made by Hengst. The Bosch used to be made by them as well, now it is indeed a Puralator at best.

I think the points regarding the filter element composition and particle size passage would be relevant to our weirdo filters.

Strength of the can, bypass valve (although that led me to wonder if/how our's bypasses?) not so much.

Still, I thought it was interesting and that folks here might be able to extract something useful from it.

After I read the previous version of this study I changed the filters on my Sky, Outlook, Chevy van, and even the Cub Cadet to Wix.

With all the different cars that use our exo-skeletal filter you would think someone would do some testing, I personally observed I will never use a Delco again, Chinese junk. As I understand it our filters are supposed to spin and the oil enters from the side, very weird indeed.
