Newbe to this board
« on: June 18, 2009, 10:05:58 PM »
Howdy,

I am a new GXP owner. I am not new to cars or sports cars. In my younger days I was a manager of an Ameron Store, Shop foreman for Goodyear, Assistant Shop Manager for a Chrysler Dealership, Assistant manager of a Body shop and finally Shop foreman for Moritz RV. During that time I owned and re-built a Triumph TR-6, a Datsun Fairlady 2000, a 240Z, an MGB, a Fiat Targa, a Triumph Spitfire, 67 Corvette 400, 67 Firebird 400. After that I went to daddy land and drove 4 door sedans.
After my kids grew up I owned a 94 Miata, 2006 Miata and now the GXP.
Thanks

Welcome! How would you compare your GXP to your Miata's?? It's always nice to get an objective opinion from someone who has owned both.
Keep Chopping!!!

I don't think, no, I know you won't hear a bad thing about the Wester's Tune. I just ordered it along with the HPT Suite. Hope to have the tune in a week or two, need to heal my broken foot first. Tons of good info here on Wester's along with some very very knowledgeable people here. In fact Lyndon not only is a supporting vendor here but he also pops in from time to time.

I think I pushed my X-19 more than drove it. TR-6 had automatic overdrive and Piranya Ignition.. Loved that car.

HPT suite ?
HP Tuners...

With Wester's you have a few options. One is to send him your ECM so he can load your tune. The second option is to purchase HP Tuners which allows you to download your stock tune to your computer, email it to Westers and then he will email you back a new tune that you then upload with HP Tuners. The final option is to find someone in your area that already has HP Tuners and see if they would be willing to upload your tune for you (with Westers permission of course). For example, there are many people here on this board that offer to load Wester tunes free of charge.

The HP Tuner Suite is 495.00.  Not cheap, but it does allow you to upload your tunes, change back to your stock tune if you need to go to the dealer, and then reload your Westers tune when you get back.

Hope this helps...
