Glad you're happy with the results. If we do the floor soon I'll be able to verify the dimensions for rough cut kits for this vehicle to make things a little easier for folks. Just to be clear though, this is strictly DIY. You got special "neighbor" treatment as thanks for letting me see if it would be feasible to mold fiberglass covers for the access holes :)

Just wait till I tell you, "OK, but I have a coupe"

A new challenge ;)

Most stuff should be the same except the trunk area, and I have a roof panel that could be deadened...

Ya, i'm not afraid to pull stuff apart and apply deadener... Though if you're ever back up at Joe's place, he has a coupe now...

So can we ship to Canada yet or are you still doing development work on the product?

 Obvious next questions, prices?

As soon as we do 1 LIL NDN's floor I'll have final numbers on the rest of the car. I'm trying to figure out how to best cut the stuff up to reduce weight for shipping and minimize waste.

So, in all, what will you eventually end up covering? Doors, floor.... wall behind the seats? Anything else?

thanks
Matt

In jonymac's Sky we did the doors, as described above, floor with CLD Tiles, 1/4" CCF on the flat part of the floor and MLV over that covering the floor and running up the sides of the center hump. We did the back wall with CLD Tiles and MLV and because exhaust noise was the single biggest problem for him, we also did the trunk with CLD Tiles, CCF and MLV. We're not going to do 1 LIL NDN's trunk because he's happy with the sound of the exhaust.

It all depends on the customer's goals. It's possible to use these materials to primarily improve the sound being produced by the stereo, target particularly annoying noise sources or to make the car as quiet inside as it can be.

OK. Like I said, I have a coupe, so the doors, floor and back wall should all be the same (or very similar). I'm guessing a couple tiles for the roof... the trunk area is very different though, and I'm not sure how to even get in there...

Whether or not the roof needs any treatment is very vehicle dependent. If you get a lot of air turbulence noise or if a sudden heavy downpour scares the hell out of you because of the noise on the roof, it worth treating - CLD Tiles and maybe a layer of CCF. If you like your music loud it's also probably worth doing because it is a potentially resonant panel right above your head. It's almost never worth putting MLV on the roof since there aren't a lot strong noise sources coming from directly above. OTOH, with a low vehicle like these, I guess noise from trucks in traffic comes close.

The carpet liner in the convertible's trunks just lifts out. Sounds like yours may be more complicated than that.

Ya, the coupe may be more complicated, just becasue of the shape.

Honestly, my biggest problem is road noise. The roads here are made of this pebbly aggregate concrete that's just horrible. Solving that would be half my battle.

Don :   You would have to look at a coupe to get the lay-out of the rear decking . Does Frankel Pontiac have any Coupes? check (1) out.
