If my GXP had come with RSAs, I would have replaced them the day after buying the car. I can't believe how many cars come with those crappy RSAs...

We took delivery of Miss Red Eagle on 12-27-2006 and of course she was an early 2007 build.  Ordered the NA first then switched to the GXP on the date it became available to order and that was 04-28-2006 so we waited 4 months on the NA and then 8 months on the GXP for a total of 12 months.  I have really been pleased with the stock Good Year P245/45R18/96W tires.  I really have no complaints.  She has been to the North American Solstice Meet in Nashville, the Regional Meet in Lexington, Kentucky, and the just completed North American Solstice Sky Meet in Denver.  I have run her hard at all the Meets and she now has a total of 12,807 miles and she has got 7/16Th's tread remaining on the rear tires and 9/16Th's on the front.  She will be three years old, that is from date of delivery on 12-27-2009.

Now, I plan to purchase more aggressive tread and a better quality tire when these tires are ready for disposal.  I am finding with all the goodies that we purchased at the Nationals in Denver, that these tires will be ready for the hopper earlier than planned!  But I am loving every moment of it!

Not sure which one's I have except there the Unidirectional ones from GY and for the way I drive they are Poop.  I can't turn a corner without them sqealing or slipping and it drives me :gaah:.  I've never been a fan of GY tires but will keep them on until they need changing and will go with maybe Hankook or Toyo both of which are 10X better than the GY's.

I'm in the same boat.

I've still got the stock goodyear eagle's on the car, and will likely replacing them before the year is out, maybe a little longer. Just north of 20k on them and they're a little past half gone.

I have Continental Extreme Contact All Season with 44000 on them and the tread looks a little better than the RSAs pictured above.  (And these have survived 3 drag strips and many burnouts, one of which Randy at DDM did over 200 foot burnout.)

Last weekend I had a chance to talk with Rhys Millen about tires, he ran the Bridgestone RE-01's on the Solstice, runs the Toyo Proxies on the new Hyundai Coupe, he MUCH prefers the Toyo's. Recommended I get a set for the Solstice as a summer tire, Falken has a new all season tire that was rated higher than there extreme performance summer tire, ZIEX ZE-912 it seems people really like these and they are cheap at $145.

Do you guys used Toyo Proxes (T1R) tires?
Around here are considered best performance and being very close to the road legal slicks Toyo R888 but not so awful on wet.
I planned to buy a set of those when the stock ones will be totaled, I hope it would hold up to the spring.

I had the Falken 512, then the 912 on my PT Cruiser. Very good value for money. They wear a little faster, but at that price, who cares?

On the Sol, though, I'm going to go with seperate summer and winter tires.

I have a set of Toyo Proxis IV on our 300C.  This is the second vehicle I've had Toyo's on, and love their tires.  The only warning / concern is for the folks who actually experience cold weather.....when the temps get down around 32 or less, the rubber gets pretty hard and the ride and handling suffer.  They are definitely not all season tires, but are excellent in the warm months.

Mine came with Bridgestone Potenza RE 050 R, hmm, 6000 miles on them up to now, I don't think they will last too long under my foot.

Got about 25,000 out of the RSA's. Tires wore fast, IMHO, and after a hydroplaning experience on I-10 a couple of summers ago, they went bye-bye. Running Rykon Raptors now, about 20,000 on 'em and like very much so far. Will probably upgrade to Toyo or Kumho next go around. Not a big fan of the RSA's. Good luck with yours.

My Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-2 has over 34k. Down to 1\16" of tread left. Funny thing is, once tires are up to temp. they still handle very good in the wet. Cold tires, that another story :brnout: without trying. Going tire shopping to day.

Had 48k on the originial RSAs when I got rid of 'em. Lousy wet weather tire. Went with Goodyear Eagle 1 All Seasons. They didn't last for poo. Less than 30k. ?????   Have Dunlop Direzzas now. No complaints so far other than they like nails.
Pops' car is Cool, Black Leather. Everything but Onstar and pretty much stock. VIN 12228.

I'm looking to get either the T1R's or maybe go a little crazier and get R1R's
I believe the R888's come stock on the Lotus Elise.

They are definitely grippy tires and I have read that they actually do very well in the rain.

I just ordered a set of the BFG-KDW's. I've heard good things about them, and they're made in USA, unlike most of those mentioned here.

I don't anything about other models from Toyo except R888 (most sticky tires used around here) and T1R or T1S. T1R and T1S are basically same tires but a little bid different tread patterns on the sides. I would love to hear an opinion about R1R.
R888 are best on performance but a pain for a daily driver because they are surprising bad on wet. T1R/T1S are very close to R888 as performance but perform extremely good on wet and they will last much longer.

I read a couple of articles in car mags about the T1R and R1R
The R1R centered around the AutoX performance of the Tire which is what initially attracted me.
It's a very different tread than the T1R.
