With the trunk I think it is around 85-90.  Maybe we can get DDM to bring their scales with them to the mod meet and we can weight them.

Is there a website where we can see the missing pics from the original post? This looks to be a fun project but I'd be hesitant to do it without some guidance...
I'd love to go to the mod meet but Maryland is not on the agenda this year as I am getting married this year and a quick dash to the east coast in the middle of all this might be considered unforgivable by the fiancé at this stage...

Gadget,
If the photos were posted here, I think they can be restored.
As for the installation, it is not complicated. I have assisted on several. It does however take a lot of time. Even with two or three people this is a two day job. If your a neat freak, it can go even longer. Once you realize you have access to every nook and cranny of the car while doing this, you end up cleaning every nook and cranny.

How far of a drive are you from San Diego?

Congrats on the knot tying.

It doesn't take as long if you leave out the custom artwork.

Well if we leave that step out then there really is no reason to do it at all, is there GJ?

Well that depends on LA traffic since he's on the north side of LA. I've had it take anywhere from 1-3 hours to get from where he's at to OC. Then I'm pretty sure you know the drive from OC (say, Irvine) to SD.

Just read the whole thread.  Appreciate the feedback comments regarding sound since sound goes hand in hand with the perception of vehicle quality.  Was hoping this could be done in a day since MI mod meet is only one day but see it is not.  Still sound deading has always been on the "to do" list.  BTW, pics in post or links still not showing up. :(

I'll check when I get home and see if I have any pics saved.

Rudy,  If you could also send me what you have to kappaperformance at yahoo.com and I'll update the thread.

Thanks
Joe

As the pictures were originally on the http://www.sounddeadenershowdown.com/ web site and not here, I suspect the only person that can restore them would be Don Sambrook.

I'm not sure why he has yet to update these pics but I have PM'd him.

Yep, sorry - that's me not paying attention :) 70 pounds should be about right. The full car, including the trunk, starts with 80 pounds of material. 5-10 pounds of scrap puts you in that range.

Any current how to install sound deadening threads, pics in this thread are no longer showing up.  In fact is the same person/vendor even offering these anymore?

Reason I'm asking is because I currently have a cat-back Solo shorty system on the 09 fastback coupe, and have been thinking of adding a high flow catalytic convertor.  However, Solo doesn't recommend it w/the coupe due to the infamous coupe cabin drone issue.  Dave told me a few have added resonators behind the exhaust tips, but even with those cabin drone may be too loud.

Received Jeff's from SOLO response regarding coupes and HFCC:

Unfortunately yes. The fact that the top is hard means that the vibration doesn’t dissipate ( by hitting a soft top ) as it travels upward. We do have a few people with the Coupe and a HF Cat and Mach-Shorty and they have put our Solo MR212S resonators in the back ( two of them by the rear band clamps on either side ) and this makes it OK but still not recommended or 100%.

Feel free to call me about this tomorrow if you like. Thanks so much for your interest.

Jeff

She's an 09 Brazen GXP.

Covered by Norms Fiberglass, DDM, WERKS, KappaSphere, Trifecta performance, Dejon performance, Solo performance, Magnaflow, Hahn, VDI, B&G, ASAP, WindRestrictor, Gravana, JPM, Santana, Madmod, HID pro, Second Skin Audio, mydipkit, Automotivetouchup.com and Smoothline.

To be or not to be hard, that is the question. I prefer my top off and still hard when I need it.

That is correct, I added several resonators also and then it was tolerable.
